I forgot to mention that the Santa Ana winds are formed by high pressure
over the desert areas causing strong winds through the various mountain
passes and are east to west, i.e. blowing off shore, and that they most
usually occur in winter.

When the Santa Anas blow there isn't a cloud in the sky.
