You claimed a spin down electron was a positron.  A positron will annihilate
with an electron.  Following your logic, a spin down electron (a.k.a. a 
positron) will annihilate with a spin up electron.

Of course, trying to apply logic when dealing with "Pearl" isn't going to
work out.
