(Here's a bit more) Whether God exists or doesn't exist, or whether he contacts people by telepathy or not -- those are all open to discussion. However, the second someone says, "Well, *I* have had God talk to me by telepathy, even if most people haven't," then one has reason to believe the person is nuts. Why would God telepathically speak only to only a few? And is making those people feel like outcasts God's way of marking them as special? People like John or Ben who feel largely isolated from the world, tend to look for reasons they are that way.
