Hello,

Totally out of my field with this, but have been doing a lot of thinking
about how the brain stores, and retrieves, past history.

Really amazes me how you might see a face, or most anything that looks 
"kinda" familiar, and an image of something similar from perhaps 50 yrs 
ago is (instantly) visualized.

Would like to learn more.
e.g., how are these old images stored, recalled, constructed, etc.

a. Is the field that studies this neurophysiology, or...?

b. Can anyone recommend a few good, fairly recent, books that go into
    the latest thinking on ?
