Nope, it cratered in because soft landing stuff on Mars is difficult,
even for a 1,300 lb probe, yet there are those that beleive we
can soft land humans and hundreds of tons of equipment and supplies
in the near future.

This is the tenth landing failure of 17 attempts to land something
on Mars or one of it's moons.
