For higher G, the star will be brighter (and shorter lived) for a given mass. However, I'd be surprised if the relationship were linear, so inconsistencies would still show (unless I'm wrong about the relationship). It should also be noted that stars get brighter as they age, even thought their mass is reducing. Sylvia.
