Why?

E.g. we have several events, that could possibly have an effect on gravity:

volcano eruptions, earthquakes or movements of plates.

Possibly there are other influences, like changes in the sun or in the 
connection of Sun to Earth.

If waves are filtered out, than what waves could the device actually 
measure?

It is certainly possible to filter out certain waves (and keep the 
rest). But what would you like to filter out and what would you like to 
keep?
