So after all the push and pull and confusion, this is the latest list of Iran's supreme national security council: - Pezeshkian (head) - Rezaee (secretary, and Leader's rep) (newly appointed) - Ghalibaf (head of parliament) - Ezhey (head of judiciary) - Momeni (minister of state) - Araghchi (minister of foreign affairs) - Hashemi (minister of information and communication) - Purmohammadi (head of budget and planning) - Abdollahi (head of armed forces) (appointed today) - Hatami (head of military forces) - Vahidi (head of Militia forces) - Jalili (Leader's rep) - (minister in charge of issue at hand) (variable member) As you see, Zolghadr is not in the council anymore and is advisor to the Leader on political affairs. Leader has two reps in the council, plus any decisions of the council has to get his approval before getting implemented. The council votes. A decision will form if it gets 3/4th of the votes and it is then sent to Leader to get approved or vetoed. Extensive discussions take place before voting is done. I don't know what happens to a suggested measure if it doesn't get 3/4th of the votes. Sent back to Parliament? I don't know. I used to know these stuff decades back but later found out a number of changes has to be made first before the government can govern correctly, and lost interest. Among such changes was the number of educated Iranians, the number of employed scientists in Iran, the number of experts in management, and the power and depth of accuracy in the judiciary. Two of the above got to the level I had deemed necessary, and immediately began correcting a lot of other issues. But the level of expertise in management still lags. Judiciary has improved significantly but there are still big issues in it. For instance, clerics and non-clerical Iranians have two different courts resolving their issues! I can't swallow a nonsense like that. If you are a cleric arrested for, say, theft, you are sent to a certain different court to be prosecuted. A court that only prosecutes clerics. So judiciary in Iran still sucks big time no matter how "accurately" they do their job. Anyway, you get the picture. I don't wish to look at government features closer than a certain point because it would be immaterial. The error margins coming from other areas totally makes such detail meaningless.
