Nowadays there are lots of applications where coarse measurement will not suffice even if you are happy with sundials and tape measures. And, as anyone can check at GPS - the precision of clocks "confirming" your delusions was low and they had to be corrected.

The problem I see is that if you put those precise measurements into the wrong equations, you are going to get wrong answers for velocities and lengths. But if you put them into the correct equations, everything will make sense. Oh, I am sorry. I used a word Einstein said not to use. He told scientists to never use common sense. Well, I see that we have some work to do as far as every communicating with scientists.

Well, if you believe in them so much, maybe you wouldn't mind posting them right here in sci.phyics.relativity. I post the equations and measurements of two sets of Galilean transformation equations from time to time. Whenever you are asked to post something to support your claims, you always post a link to some irrelevant discussion of the Lorentz equations. So, obviously, you do not want to discuss the measurements of length contraction. You just want to say science is a democracy, and your faction is the faction in power right now. So if we are not going to discuss anything, we should still try to be civil with one another because if we don't, someone might go into a synagogue or school or church somewhere and shoot a bunch of people, and it would be our fault. > > > > But if you put them into the correct equations, everything will make > > sense. You’d like me to indulge your laziness, simply because of your stance that you choose not to believe anything that hasn’t been shoved into your mouth with a rubber coated spoon like an infant. Well, Robert, I’m a nonscientist just like you, and I had no problem getting out of my chair, walking to the library a couple miles away, and looking it up. I would expect any grownup that doesn’t need to be fed like a baby to do the same. > I post the equations and measurements of two sets of Galilean > transformation equations from time to time. What is false and what is true in science is given by experimental evidence, not by internal conviction, Robert. You do not have awareness of the experimental evidence. You only have awareness of your internal convictions. Consequently, what you consider false is not particularly compelling to anyone else. > You are not here to discuss anything, as has been proven time and again. I said in fact that I did want to discuss Galilean and Newtonian relativity, including all the aspects you wanted to ignore. Instead, you said you only wanted to discuss redefined equations and algebra and had no interest in physics. So it has been you that titled a thread Newtonian and Galilean relativity and then decided not to talk about that at all. About the closest thing to Galilean relativity you wanted to talk about was the crude timekeeping methods they had in Galileo’s day, which you opined would be a good thing to return to. -- Odd Bodkin -- maker of fine toys, tools, tables

So he just sticks this fingers in his ears and shouts: La La La La I CAN'T HEAR YOU! > So it has been you that titled a thread Newtonian and Galilean relativity > and then decided not to talk about that at all. > > About the closest thing to Galilean relativity you wanted to talk about was > the crude timekeeping methods they had in Galileo’s day, which you opined > would be a good thing to return to. Galiean Relativity is correct. This has been clearly shown. No assumptions about the speed of light are needed!

No, it is NOT.

It has been clearly (and repeatedly) shown that it is NOT correct, yes.
To reiterate:
∙ γ := 1/√(1 − v²/c²) Lorentz factor
∙ τ_µ ≈ 2.2 µs, v_µ ≈ 0.9997 c₀ → ∆s_µ_Galilean = v_µ τ_µ ≈ 660 m;
but ∆s_µ ≈ v_µ τ_µ γ(v_µ) ≈ 26.88 km and ∆s_µ ≈ 10 km is observed;

<https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?dataset=&i=0.9997+*+speed+of+light+*+(muon+lifetime)+*+1%2Fsqrt(1+-+0.9997%5E2)>
∙ ∆T_GPS/d ≈ −7 µs/d + 56 µs/d = +48 µs/d → ∆x/d = c₀ ∆T_GPS/d ≈ 14 km/d
if not corrected (no such effects predicted by the Galilean
transformation, where t' = t);
<http://www.astronomy.ohio-state.edu/~pogge/Ast162/Unit5/gps.html> pp.
∙ v_p_Galilean(E_kin = 7 TeV) = √(2 E_kin/m_p) ≈ 122 c₀;
but v_p(E_kin = 7 TeV) = c √(1 − m_p²c₀⁴/E_kin²) ≈ 0.999999991 c₀
is observed.

It has also been shown that the Galilean transformation is a good
*approximation* if speeds v ≪ c := c₀. To reiterate:
Lorentz transformation Galilean
∙ lim_{v → 0} x' = lim_{v → 0} γ (x − v t) = x − v t
∙ lim_{v → 0} t' = lim_{v → 0} γ (t − v/c² x) = t
∙ lim_{v u' → 0} u = lim_{v u' → 0} (v + u')/(1 + v u'/c²) = v + u'
∙ lim_{v → 0} E_kin = lim_{v → 0} m c² (γ − 1) = 1/2 m v².
> No assumptions about the speed of light are needed!
The isotropy of the speed of light is *an experimental fact*:

You have *no clue* what you are talking about.

Define your symbols, fool. It has nothing to do with the Laplacian differential operator. I bet you never heard about it, nor used. In models, modelling Physics. Much less Relativity.
