That is all true. But you fail to mention time dilation. Time dilation is
what SR is all about.

On the moving train, time runs slower. When you measure the speed of light
on a moving train, it will be 299,792,458 meters per second.

When you measure the speed of light on the embankment, it will be 299,792,458
meters per second.

AND, if you compare lengths of seconds, you will find that due to SR time
dilation, a second is LONGER on the moving train than on the embankment.
That means the speed of light is also different.

Read my paper about this: http://vixra.org/pdf/1607.0289v6.pdf

This is one of your worst mistakes (of which you have dozens so far).
Look Edward, the time dilation (and length contraction) formulas are a
consequence of the speed of light to be constant and equal to c km/s.

See the Lorentz Transformation Equations (or read for once Einstein 1905
paper) to understand this.

So your suggestion that time dilation affects the speed of light is just
crazy....

Is the speed of light 299,792,458 meters PER SECOND atop a mountain?
Is the speed of light 299,792,458 meters PER SECOND at the bottom of the
mountain?

Does General Relativity say that time moves at a different rate at the
top of a mountain versus at the bottom of the mountain?

If time DOES move at different rates at those different locations, then
doesn't that mean that a SECOND has a different length at different
locations?

Yes, 299,792,458 local top-meters per local top-second.

Yes, 299,792,458 local bottom-meters per local bottom-second.

Yes, sort of, in the sense that top-seconds, when measured with
a bottom-clock, differ from bottom-seconds.

So, what does that tell you about top-meters versus
bottom-meters?

Never mind. Your brain in not wired for this.

How could a meter, 3e6 kilometres far away, still be taken under the
umbrella of "local". Unachievable. Mutual exclusive.

The only thing it means is that the given clock RECORDED a different amount
of time than the other clock, due to the fact that each clock followed a
different path through spacetime.

NO, it means that the higher clock ticks faster because time moves faster
when farther from a gravitational mass.

Spacetime is a mathematical model that has nothing to do with what actually
happened. It's just a way for mathematicians to visualize things. It seems
they cannot understand reality where clocks tick at different rates here
on earth.

Is it impossible for people here to discuss the Hafele-Keating experiment OR
the NIST experiment WITHOUT discussing the math?

Hafele and Keating flew clocks around the world. They CONFIRMED SR and GR.
H&K did NOT travel in a different path through spacetime than the clock back
at the U.S. Naval Observatory. All the clocks were on or over planet earth.
The USNO clock didn't move. The clocks H&K carried with them DID move and DID
go through changes in altitude.

While the experiment was going on, the earth was spinning, the earth was also
orbiting the sun, and the sun was orbiting the center of the Milky Way galaxy.

So, if you watched the situation from Alpha Centauri, the clocks WOULD travel
on different paths through SPACE. They would also move on different paths
through space if H&K stayed at home and kept the clocks in a closet. Two
synchronized clocks positioned miles apart at the same altitude and latitude
will remain synchronized even though they travel on different "paths"
through space.

Time is NOT A PATH. It is particle spin. Raise a clock to where gravity
has less pull and the particles will spin faster. Move a clock and the
particles within the clock will slow their spinning because there is a
natural speed limit on how fast things can move.

You argue that SR is reciprocal and GR is not. How can that be if H&K
showed that it is NOT TRUE?

I'm sorry, but physics is LOADED with math. If you can't deal with math,
physics just isn't for you. It's like asking for doing accounting without
math. No can do.

>Hafele and Keating flew clocks around the world. They CONFIRMED SR and GR.

As SR is just GR without gravity, it really just confirmed GR. However, a
shortcut in GR (with weakish gravity) is to calculate the gravitational
contribution and the motion contribution separately and just combine them.
Less math, should make you happy.

You just don't know what "different paths through spacetime" means, if
you believe that.

That's just crap you made up. In fact it is reversed, spin is a creation
of time.

H&K did NOT show it was not true. The experiment itself is not reciprocal.
Referenced to the center of the earth, there are 3 clocks moving in the
same (circular) direction, fast, faster and fastest. Plus gravitational
effects.

I'm not a physicist nor an accountant. I just have an interest in science,
an interest I've had all my life. I've read many many many science books.
Right now I'm reading "Packing for Mars" by Mary Roach. I subscribed to
Scientific American for years and years.

Name an experiment that shows that velocity time dilation is reciprocal.
People here keep claiming there are many such experiments, but no one ever
names such an experiment or provides a link. I see text books that make that
claim and I see scientific papers that make that claim, but where are the
EXPERIMENTS which show that velocity time dilation is reciprocal?

That's great, but by now, you should have realized that physics comes with
loads of math. No way of avoiding it. Trying to do physics without all
the math is like doing accounting or bookkeeping without math, or being a
dairy farmer without having to deal with cows, for that matter.

The 'traveling twin' problem would not work without reciprocal SR time
dilation. Reciprocity is otherwise admittedly difficult to prove.

Someone often posted a list of tests validating SR a while back. I will
have to find it and check for reciprocal SR time dilation validation.

Meanwhile you may want to read this section of a wiki page:

I've avoided it for decades. But I'm not "doing physics." I'm ENJOYING
science. I LOVE science. Math bores me.

I want to talk about the science of time dilation. People here only want
to talk about the math. And the math says that time dilation is RECIPROCAL,
which is just plain NUTS.

Cessium-133 atomic clocks measure the spin or oscillation rate of the
outermost electron of the 55 electrons. When the spin of that outermost
electron deviates from a frequency of 9,192,631,770 Hertz, the clock
automatically adjusts the length of a second back to 9,192,631,770 Hertz.

The Cessium-133 atom slows when it is moved closer to the earth, and when
it is in a moving clock. When the atom slows, the clock has to compensate and
wait longer to count 9,192,631,770 "ticks."

When time slows, it takes longer to count 9,192,631,770 "ticks."
When time speeds up, it takes less time to count 9,192,631,770 "ticks."

The length of a second changes because the amount of time it takes to
count 9,192,631,770 "ticks" change with altitude and velocity.

Yes, it is about the "twin paradox," but IN REALTY there is NO paradox.
Time dilation IS NOT RECIPROCAL. PERIOD.

As stated before, if two spaceships meet in space, it may SEEM to each
that they are stationary and the other is moving, but they can quickly
determine who is moving FASTEST by comparing the length of a second.
The ship that is moving fastest will have LONGER seconds than the ship
that is moving slower.

Reciprocal motion is just an ILLUSION. Reciprocal time dilation is NONSENSE.
