You failed to understand that Engineers must have understanding of physics to do their job. That means that Engineers are PRACTICAL physicists. I am an Engineer (a practical physicist) and I developed a physical theory of the universe called Model Mechanics. My book on Model Mechanics is available in the following link:

The main feature of Model mechanics are as follows:
-It offers a realistic origin of the universe.
-It offers realistic processes for the origin of all visible matters.
-It explains the cell division and the consciousness processes.
-It provides a mechanism to unify all the forces of nature.
-It can be validated experimentally.
-It gives rise to an Improved Relativity Theory (IRT).
-It gives rise to a new theory of gravity called Doppler Theory of Gravity
(DTG)
-It includes Special Theory of Relativity and General Theory of Relativity as
subsets.
-It provides physical models for all the math of Quantum Mechanics.
-It postulates a new repulsive fifth force identified as the CRE force.
-It gives a physical explanation for the charge of a particle.
-It gives physical explanations all the weird results of all quantum
experiments.
-It explains the structures of atoms.
Modern theoretical physicists are mathematicians. They bury themselves in their math fantasy and came up with different non-existing math models of our universe. For example:
1. Extra dimension of space....these extra dimensions are curled up and thus they are not observable.
2. Universe constant for the speed of light....whereas by definition speed of anything (including light) is observer dependent.
3. Time dilation is not existing because a clock second is not a universal interval of time. We Engineers realize that time is absolute. That’s why the GPS Engineers redefined the GPS second to have 4.4647 more periods of the Cs 133 radiation than the ground clock second. This makes the passage of a redefined GPS second will correspond to the passage of a ground clock second in terms of absolute time.
4. Length contraction is not real. A meter stick will return the same length after a journey. The correct interpretation of the length contraction equations is as follows:
The light-path of a moving meter stick is predicted to be foreshortened by a factor of 1/gamma or expanded by a factor of gamma. These predictions is based on the assumption that the light-path length of the observer’s meter stick is its material length.

That's not a good sign, meaning your stroke/Alzheimer's symptoms may be getting worse. My daughter solved the problem (-6/-2) about four-five years ago. She is now going into an advanced 9th grade program. Meanwhile, you *still* can't solve (-6/-2)! No wonder your IRT is such a failure!
