Nope. Cite your sources. Provide quotes. Don't just state your BELIEFS.

Don't quote the Pound-Rebka experiment, since it was a badly constructed experiment that provided false results.

Quotes from WHAT? A quote from WHERE would move you into a position
where you might consider your own beliefs possibly wrong? Hmmm?

Good point, Ed.

It's like, on my last hunting trip, the police said
I shot another hunter instead of Bambi. I pointed out
they were RIGHT NEXT to each other, ergo, the SAME
LOCATION, which means I hit the target.

The judge said, "Sir, that's the same logic as the famous
Ed Lake, therefore the charge is dismissed!"

You tell him, Ed.
It's a FACT that one foot away from the observer doesn't matter
(it's the SAME LOCATION), and it's a FACT that the one foot
separation of the clocks is significant, as it altered
their flow of time. As shown by this SIMPLE experiment.

I admire hard boiled facts men like yourself, who don't
bother with BELIEFS -

You're playing word games. Your argument is that everything is in a different location because no two things can be in the same place.

I'm talking about objects being in the same bookcase but on different shelves. Are they in the same location? They do not both exist is the same place. But they are in the same GENERAL location, one above the other. And they are the same distance from the observer. Therefore the distance to the observer has no significance when talking about time dilation.

Same general location is not good enough. A 1 foot difference is noticeable.

So says you. Experiments & communications systems says otherwise.

ANOTHER good point, Ed.
You have a steel trap like a mind, you really do.

Both clocks are the same distance from the observer - one foot -
which is CLEARLY too small to affect his measurements.

And, the clocks are just one foot apart, which is CLEARLY
too small to affect their time measurements.

Hence, the clocks registered the SAME readings, as logic dictates.
I know that you, like me, adhere strictly to logic, and sneer

On what basis do you say it is too small? How many picoseconds is 1 foot?
What is the experimental resolution, in your opinion?

Show your amateur stuff Boinker. what is the time delay in a foot of
light? All experimental scientists know this. (Theoreticians probably
don't unless they calculate and anyway that is APPLIED so they won't do
it.) Give RichD some actual information for a change.

You did? Sorry, I'm working hard to catch up, but I've actually been

Nice one!

No. You are conflating a "person" with "observer". An "observer" simply means a measuring/logging device.

Two clocks at different height are at different gravitational potentials. Moreover, the light (signal) "going up" travels is a different potential scheme than the light going down.

When you use devices as observers you can easily misinterpret what is going on by imagining there are more relevant devices than really exist. You need to SPECIFY which device you consider to be an "observer."

Not so. Light in any frame of reference will travel at a constant speed regardless of whether it is going up or down or sideways. The Pound/Rebka experiments were INVALID, since they ASSUMED the frequency of the waves they emitted without actually measuring the waves. They only measured the waves being received.

You clearly dont understand the concept of "observer". Lets keep that for a different thread.

You are denying facts again?
Place yourself in between two clocks at different heights.
The signal you receive from one will be red shifted, and the other blueshifted.

> Light in any frame of reference will travel at a constant speed

In inertial frames. It is not (necessarily) the case in non inertial frames.

> regardless of whether it is going up or down or sideways.

Wrong. You definitely have A LOT of reading to do.

Bullshit. Clocks are not emitting signals. What am I crazy!! To do that
you need a completely different device.

Not so. The Pound-Rebka experiment was badly designed. They did not measure the speed of light at the source, only at the target.

Cite a source (other than Pound-Rebka) where an experiment showed that light falls when going toward the earth and slows when going away from the earth.

Every single Postulate of Relativity says "When Light is measured IN A SPECIFIC REFERENCE FRAME, c will be the result."

The top of the building at Harvard would be a DIFFERENT REFERENCE FRAME from the bottom of the building. As all the time dilation experiments show, the LENGTH OF A SECOND would be different at the top of the building versus the bottom of the building. If the length of a second is different, the VELOCITY PER SECOND for anything must ALSO be different.

m = c^2/E

You cannot understand Time Dilation without understanding the mass energy equivalence

Claiming to expect a different measured value for c is admitting to not understanding the mass energy equivalence

You throw the whole of physics in the garbage in your salvation of "Ed Lake's Time Dilation"
