The GPS receptor has not an atomic clock, but that does not mean at all that
the unique reception instant t of arriving signals from the satellites is not
important; the determination of this instant t -jointly with the receptor
position (x, y, z) at t- is precisely the resolution output of the system of
1686NM equations.

You are totally wrong thinking that the relativistic 'rate correction' is
totally unnecessary and bogus; the necessity of it is already an EXPERIMENTAL
FACT since the first GPS satellite launching on 1977, and to apply it when the
satellite is still at ground before the launching is today a routine procedure
in GPS.

In the first launching, the necessary relativistic correction to synchronize
the atomic clock inside the satellite with the unique 1905R GPS ECI time
-obtained from the predictions of 1905R and GR- was experimentally confirmed
with an accuracy of 1%. In this unique first case, the correction was applied
with the satellite already in the designed orbit, after 20 days analyzing and
processing carefully the data received from the satellite containing (among
other data) what the internal clock showed.

I explained to you already in sufficient detail that your c+v signal velocity
respect to a rest satellite source implies a flagrant violation of the 1686NM
Laws holding good in the GPS ECI. And those Laws receives a HUGE experimental
support from the very accurate GPS operation, the same support that receives
the two original 1905R postulates compatible with an isotropic signal velocity
c not depending on the source velocity v.

You are wrong again, 1905 Einstein is precisely the first declaring the
luminiferous ether superfluous; his first 1905R postulate implies the not
existence of it, because the 1864 Maxwell's laws determining the vacuum light
speed c hold good in ANY 1686NM Center of Mass system, as already very well
confirmed experimentally in our GPS ECI.

Naturally even atomic clock rates are affected by being relieved of
internal gravity stress, just like anything else. The amount of change
has nothing to do with GR.

No, Ralph Malcolm Rabbidge. The atomic clocks in the satellite depend
strictly on the properties of the cesium atom, which is not affected by
gravity stress at all, Ralph. This is not a spring-wound or pendulum
clock, you know.

As has been explained to you ***many*** times before, the atoms in a cesium beam
clock follow a parabolic, free-fall trajectory on the Earth, and they follow a
free-fall trajectory in space. So there is no "gravity stress" on the cesium
atoms in an earthbound cesium clock.

A rubidium gas-cell clock uses different technology than a cesium beam clock,
yet a rubidium clock in space requires ***exactly*** the same rate correction
as a cesium clock in space.

The stress hypothesis would predict that different species of atom used in
atomic clocks would exhibit differing sensitivities to changes in the strength
of the gravitational field, yet single-ion clocks based on aluminum, beryllium,
magnesium, and mercury all exhibit rate changes dependent on the gravitational
potential which quantitatively match the predictions of GR, while showing no
atomic-species-specific variation.

There should be 'stress' due to the Lorentz force by the earth's magnetic field acting on the atoms. The inner-atomic potentials (and thus the atomic frequencies) are changed by this.

Physics is a QUANTITATIVE science, and you need to COMPUTE the magnitude of this
effect. Do that and you'll find it is completely and utterly negligible, by many
orders of magnitude.

Hint: this is the Zeeman effect. For earth's magnetic field
it is ENORMOUSLY smaller than the spin-orbit coupling that
generates the hyperfine splitting of the ground state of
Cs133 used in a cesium atomic clock. This is so on the
surface, and it is much smaller in orbit.

But you still don't know what is the theoretical, nor real,
impact of the solar magnetic field, at least;
but there is the whole Galaxy around.

The Lamb shift - what is it i fact?

It's rather evident:
any atom on the earth moves with a speed: 300-500 km/s.

I repeat: physics is a QUANTITATIVE science, and you need to COMPUTE the
magnitude of this effect.

Hint: on earth compass needles point to the north OF THE EARTH.
Hence the solar magnetic field is considerably smaller than
that of the earth, which yields a negligible effect.
Ditto for a putative galactic magnetic field.

It shows how little you understand physics, and how out of touch you actually
are, when common knowledge known for centuries proves your silly speculations to
be wrong.

But I have computed that already and the result is correct,
means: the so-called Lamb shit is indeed due to the motion
of an atom with a speed about 300-500 km/s, so it's perfect prediction.

Useless speech, because: physics is a QUANTITATIVE science,
and you need to COMPUTE the magnitude of this effect.

I don't need to understand, because:
physics is a QUANTITATIVE science,
and you need to COMPUTE (not understand!) the magnitude of this effect.

Do you still remember about that?

This is incorrect to a large extent. Compass needles are always pointing
towards South, and more correctly, towards the Core of the inner
subterranean Earth. This shows how little experience you may have in
Physics. I mean, in the field, not theories,

OBVIOUSLY you have never used a compass. Your claims are wrong. No compass
needle points "towards the Core of the inner subterranean Earth" they point in
the direction of magnetic north, and the needle itself remains accurately (but
not exactly) horizontal.

Common new beginner error. Compass needles align always along the Magnetic
Lines, which INTERSECTS at a certain angle the SURFACE of Earth, depending
on the sensor's location. LOL, that I need to say it. Are you sure you
understand Tensors satisfactory?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth%27s_magnetic_field
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:XYZ-DIS_magnetic_field_coordinates.svg

"At any location, the Earth's magnetic field can be represented by a
three-
dimensional vector. A typical procedure for measuring its direction is to
use a compass to determine the direction of magnetic North. Its angle
relative to true North is the declination (D) or variation. Facing
magnetic North, the angle the field makes with the horizontal is the
inclination (I) or magnetic dip. The intensity (F) of the field is
proportional to the force it exerts on a magnet. Another common
representation is in X (North), Y (East) and Z (Down) coordinates.[12]"

OBVIOUSLY you have never used a compass.

At my latitude (60 north) the magnetic lines intersect the surface
at 72 degrees from horizontal. Pretty steep!
But I can assure you that the needles in all the compasses in all
the boats I have ever sailed (I have sailed thousands of nautical
miles) have remained "accurately (but not exactly) horizontal".
The North end will dip a couple of degrees from horizontal,
but not more.

Hey idiot with a mouth. You are saying exactly what I already made clear
and obvious. So you can't come here with you hilarious "OBVIOUSLY you have
never used a compass". It shows that, unlike YOU and some others, I DID
used a compass.

Yes, congratulation. Finally you find out how compasses works.

That's because the crappy "featured" construction, obvious for anyone
claiming being a Physicist. But the NEEDLES are aligning along those
magnetic lines, nevertheless. Good post, anyway.

That might be so if compass needles were weightless or if they were aligned
vertically.

But they aren't.

They are balanced in the middle, and how much they dip is a compromise between
how much they tend to remain horizontal because they are balanced, versus how
much they tend to dip because of the direction of the magnetic field lines.

-------^-------
       |

If you want to measure the inclination of the magnetic field, you use a
magnetic dip circle, not a compass.

Let's see:

In an atom of radius r moving with velocity v in a magnetic field B, the Lorentz force creates an electric potential over the electron orbit

W_L = r*e*B*v/c

With r= 10^-8 cm, e= 4.8*10^-10 esu, B= 1 Gauss and v=4*10^5 cm/sec

this results in an energy correction of W_L = 6*10^-23 erg

The energy of an atomic oscillator of frequency f on the other hand is

W_0 = h*f  (h = Planck constant)

which for f=10^9 Hz results in W_0 = 6.6*10^-27 *10^9 = 6.6*10^-18 erg

so

W_L/W_0 = 10^-5

As the hyperfine transitions used in atomic clocks are dipole forbidden though, there is only a second order effect

(W_L/W_0)^2 = 10^-10

which is the same order of magnitude as the relativistic clock correction.

It is not necessarily the cesium resonance that changes. It is more
likely the frequency dividing and counting system that does.
Nobody counts the cycles of a cesium nucleus you know. It is far to high.

The GR prediction has never been tested accurately by anyone, let alone
someone who didn't have a vested interest in producing a particular
predetermined answer..

???

1) The circuits count the cycles of a hyperfine ELECTRONIC transition, not a
nuclear transition emitting a gamma ray.
2) 9.192631770 GHz is not too high to count accurately, especially since a
high speed custom prescaler is used as a first step to bring the frequency
down to a more manageable level.
3) ***Digital*** counters can't drift in the way that you imply.

GR is supported by lots and lots of experiments as well as practical validation.
The problem is that you have closed your mind to all of the evidence, since if
you don't do so, you will realize that you have spent DECADES of your life on
a futile non-theory.

Science marches on. You don't. You are stuck with a 19th century view of
reality.
