Two events that are absolutely simultaneous will not, in general, appear to be simultaneous. That is a consequence of the finite speed of light and is not an indication that simultaneity is relative. Einstein and his followers were always too stupid to realize this. Without the RoS, the whole of Einstein's theory becomes nonsensical. --

The only separation speed that would allow this is zero, and the result would be no separation at all. For all other speeds, time dilation applies. So, by contrast to Einstein’s method, this method is neither feasible nor reliable. -- PointedEars Twitter: @PointedEars2 Please do not cc me. / Bitte keine Kopien per E-Mail.

It doesn't matter how the clocks are separated...as long as you don't break them. They will remain in synch...within known drift.

This is just plain not true in the world we inhabit. You can take two atomic clocks, synchronize them together, put one in a car or airplane and take it on a round trip, and when it comes back to the first they VISIBLY display different times, differing by more than their inherent resolutions. We can do the same with satellites of GPS. The results are different, than you describe. That's because clocks there are serious. Your fantasy world IS the world you inhabit.

For all other speeds, time dilation > applies. So, by contrast to Einstein’s method, this method is neither > feasible nor reliable. Clarification: In a perfect world where there are no gravity wells along the way one could separate the clocks at a relative speed that is known for an infinitesimal time interval with arbitrary precision. Then, if also the clocks had arbitrary precision, one would precisely know the time dilation between the clocks and could re-sync them without actually looking at the other clock. However, while this world is sufficient for a thought experiment, it remains a nice fantasy: there *are* gravity wells along the way (i.e., spacetime is not completely flat, so there is gravitational time dilation to consider), one cannot know the separation speeds of the clocks with arbitrary precision, and the clocks do not have arbitrary precision either. So using the fact of the constant speed of light by sending a signal from the first clock to the second one and back again, and using this to synchronize them, is, practically, a vastly superior approach. -- PointedEars Twitter: @PointedEars2 Please do not cc me. / Bitte keine Kopien per E-Mail.

Yes...we know all that....it's complete bullshit based on a flawed postulate.

Ralph, I was not talking to any imaginary doctor Wilson, I was talking to you, Ralph Malcolm Rabbidge. Ralph, do I have to show everyone your self-awarded "doctor" diploma, Ralph?
