It was from an example Susskind gave on attempting to use an illumination source bright (short enough wavelength) enough to Illuminate matter beyond an event horizon.

The information trying to be illuminated for viewing would be erased and Thermalized

Another half-engineer wannabe scientist. Once you've been overthere in the
Past, how can that thing still be in the future. Go ahead and buy yourself
a brain. You seems unfortunate. Prodigy, but still unfortunate

Are you under the impression that arguing about semantics (or even just
the meaning of words) contributes anything to our knowledge in this area?

Give it up Sylvia. Libs don't do science. Their idea is that arguing
about the meaning of words is somehow discussing science. Odd is a
perfect example of that.

The idea of time travel.

Time is a noumenon, like number. It exists only in the mind of man.

Like number, you can't sense it, you can't wield it, and you can't
break it. That's because it has no substance. Kinda like number.

Have you heard of number. Sylvia? It's a noumenon, like time.
It exists only in the mind of man.

Time is a function, with the set of events (real) as domain
and real numbers (noumenon) as codomain.

Repeating that doesn't make it any more true. We measure things using
numbers, because it's convenient. That does not in itself mean that the
thing measured is inherently numerical.

While I don't actually dispute that time travel is impossible, proof of
the impossibility has not been forthcoming. At best, some of the paradox
arguments suggest that it's impossible if time has a subset of the
conceivable properties, but we don't know that time does.

Sylvia.

You're repeating yourself, Woz.

Bo-o-o-ring.
