Hi all,

I'm new to group.  I received a Bachelor's in Physics over 20 years ago but ended up in software.  I miss physics as I approach old fartism.  I loved SR and Star Trek.  One of the last exercises I did was to calculate what one would see on a trip from Earth to Alpha Centauri given a hypothetical 1g bang-bang acceleration.  It was a trip.  The universe Lorentz contracts along direction of travel, I think it came up to about 1/2 light year behind me, it approaches a pancake.  Unfortunately, one cannot return to Earth and tell friends how cool that was.  Rocket Man is a lonely job.

The proper time of light is zero.  The faster you go, the closer you approach this weirdness.  I googled this question but most replies just said you can't reach c so you can't ask the question.  This reminded me of the fellow who said Einstein's theories were inconceivable and Einstein replied that he had already conceived them.

Not that it is useful or important to physics but, really, what's that like?  Electromagnetic waves are everywhere now?  How does one imagine this?

Please redirect me if this question has been exhausted in another thread.

The Volume of space time appears to be energy.

((4pi/10^7)/376.730313)  = (376.730313*8.85418784e-12)


1 / ((376.730313 * (0.5 * G)) / ((4 * pi) / (10^7))) = 99.9580753

It can be done, because you are referring to proper acceleration. Your scenario is one often asked and found at carious places on the net.

I think this is correct.

To kept the constancy of speed of light  I use a certain trick:

I allow different 'axis of time', which could have an angle towards each 
other. This angle is a rotation over a complex plane. Also velocity is 
an angle over the complex plane.

The axis of time is the real axis and the imaginary axis is called 
'spacelike'.

This plane is 'multiplied by three', what raises the flat picture into 
volume. Then we have three perpendicular axis of time, which are the 
unit vectors of a certain kind of space, which we call 'spacetime'.

What we call 'real space' is actually the past/future light cone of the 
observer.

The observer serves also as zero-point in his particular FoR and so the 
hyperplane of the present is co-moving with the observer.

The axis of time is now perpendicular to the hyperplane of the present, 
irrespective to where the observer is or how fast he moves.

Around this axis we can construct a cone with an angle 45°, which 
represents c.

This angle of 45° will always represent c, because space and time are 
defined this way. So the speed of light is constant.
