That's why I'm here: to explain things in different ways until I find the way that is simplest and easiest for others to understand. Give it up, your idea that time dilation is caused by the speed relative to "the point where the big bang occurred" is ludicrous. We know that the apparent rate of a moving clock (t') compared to the rate of the observer's clock (t) is: dt'/dt = sqrt(1 - v^2/c^2) where v is the speed of the moving clock in the observer's rest frame. The only speed that matters is the speed of the moving clock relative to the observer, and the rate of the moving clock is always slower than the rate of the observer's clock. The speed of the clock relative to anything else in the universe is utterly irrelevant. > > 1. The point where the Big Bang occurred is probably the only truly STATIONARY point in the Big Bang universe. > > 2. Although I'm sitting at my desk typing into my computer, I am also moving through the universe because the earth under me is spinning on its axis, and the earth is moving in its orbit around the sun, and the sun is moving in its orbit around the Milky Way galaxy. If someone is moving "relative to me," i.e., either moving toward me or away from me, they are ALSO moving relative to the point where the Big Bang occurred (UNLESS they are somehow stationary relative to the stationary point where the Big Bang occurred, which would mean they are moving away from me at many thousands of miles per hour). > > 4. It would only run slower if it is ALSO moving faster relative to the point where the Big Bang occurred. So the context of your testament comes three days later than your statement? :-D That makes it rather hard to quote you in context! :-D > > In short, if you are stationary relative to the stationary point where the Big Bang occurred, ANYTHING that moves relative to you is moving faster than you. Ed Lake has concocted a method whereby we can determine the direction toward Genesis, by observing clock rates and rotation of the earth! If you had enough data, there might be a way to determine the direction to the point where the Big Bang occurred. It's something worth thinking about. You can use The Scientific Method to look for the answer. Astronomy journals want new observations, not new theories. New theories belong in general science and physics journals. Astronomy journals have a LOT about OBSERVATIONS OF EVIDENCE of the Big Bang. But they seem only concerned with the VISIBLE universe, not the Big Bang Universe. They definitely seem to know the difference. It's supper time. I'm shutting down for today. Ed

Unfortunately, it's not just a theory anymore. We have GPS now, so we that know moving clocks accumulate the same amount of time, just like serious clocks always did.
