Well, he can't tell you because that would involve a theory of
space-time and he doesn't have one; all he has is some notions.

"if two identical clocks are separated vertically by 1 km near the surface of Earth, the higher clock emits about three more second-ticks than the lower one in a million years." Source: https://www.uam.es/personal_pdi/ciencias/jcuevas/Teaching/Chou-Hume-Rosenband-Wineland-Science2010.pdf

A three second difference in a million years. That is the range of "smallness" we're talking about.

It is EXTREMELY difficult to measure such tiny differences when clocks are in the same building. Having one clock in the U.S. and the other in India adds in all kinds of problems.

Interestingly, you may find it fascinating that the time difference has
been measured for clocks separated by about 1 meter vertically. So while
this SOUNDS daunting to you, you have vastly underestimated the sensitivity
of modern experiments.

Just to give you a feel, a year is about 30 million seconds, so a million
years is 30 trillion seconds. So 3 seconds over 30 trillion seconds is 1
part in ten trillion. That is actually not that hard a sensitivity to
reach.

Odd, poor idiot, when clocks desynchronize and require a
correction there is no time difference. Just a clock error.
and that's what your bunch of idiots has really measured.
Nothing you could comprehend with your tiny fanatic brain,
of course.

Sure Mr Wozniak. Big coincidence that what was measured is
pretty well predicted by GR. But GR is wrong whatsoever.
Your mental illness is quite fascinating anyway.

A lie, as expected from fanatic trash. What is measured is
what clocks indicate and this is t'=t. Anyone can check at
GPS and your mental illness can do nothing about it.

But the question is... "WHEN" in a million years, at what time? Three more seconds on the first day, or the last day of ..a million years?

Your question makes no sense. Time ALWAYS ticked at different rates. It takes a million years to accumulate 3 more seconds.

But....WHEN does it accumulate three more seconds?

It has to be within the time frame of...a million years.

Or how long did it take to reach the third second?? Was it a second later or a half a million years later???

I mean, I don't get it, am I asking tough questions????

I just want to know....when.

Over a period of a million years.

It is EXACTLY within the time frame of a million years.

>
> Or how long did it take to reach the third second?? Was it a second later or a half a million years later???

It took 333,333 years to accumulate the first second, 666,666 years to accumulate the second second, and 1,000,000 years to accumulate the third second.

>
> I mean, I don't get it, am I asking tough questions????

It's not a tough question, the problem is why you do not understand the answer.

>
> I just want to know....when.

Here is the answer again:

If 3 seconds are accumulated in million years, that means it takes 333,333 years to accumulate 1 second of difference, and 666,666 years to accumulate 2 seconds of difference. And of course, it takes a million years to accumulate 3 seconds of difference.

How can that not be perfectly clear to you?

Ed

or maybe 12 billion seconds...

Does that mean light doesn't travel very far in a million years? since
there are only 3 seconds of travel time..

How do you know that? You don't have a theory that gives you numbers.

The theory is called "The General Theory of Relativity." Look it up.

I merely quoted what the SCIENTIFIC ARTICLE said. If you have a disagreement with the article, there might be some place at the link for you to voice your disagreement.

The General Theory of relativity has as its basis the assumption that
velocities are only relative. Your theory violates that assumption, so
you cannot base your predictions on General Relativity.

As things stand, you have no way of predicting the different rates on
clocks on opposite sides of the Earth, so you have no basis for the
prediction that the difference is too small to be readily detected.

Sylvia.

Well, here we get into the nut of the problem. He actually approached real
science by noting that his idea might have an observable consequence that
could actually be tested. And he immediately had to confront the problem of
figuring out how hard that measurement would be — which is PRECISELY the
art of doing experimental physics. And so he responded to that call but
could only do it at the level of “very very very small” and “opposite sides
of the earth would be very very hard”. “Very very” is meaningless in
science and he knows it. The only thing that would matter here, to actually
do the experimental test that is ESSENTIAL to the scientific method, would
be numbers. And then vapor lock sets in, because he has zero aptitude here.

And on a similar note, "a clock TICKS or RUNS slower" is bad *physics*
and has no real meaning. Again, if you are discussing physics, you must know the meaning of the words as used in physics. Dont mix up the meanings with the common english meanings.

That claim/sentence is just wrong on so many counts!

Actually, as stated by nearly everyone here, it is you that cannot read nor write correct physics. This is a physics NG, not an english NG.

See? Even that sentence of yours makes no sense, be in as english or physics.

It is correct if you understand Relativity, and if you understand English.

So, there is no need for you to reply to my posts. I'm here to discuss PHYSICS because I'm thinking of writing a book (and probably some articles) about the PROBLEMS in physics between mathematician Quantum Theorists and scientists who understand Relativity. Those papers and the book won't be written for physicists. They'll be written for ordinary people who are interested in science and physics. If mathematician Quantum Theorists cannot understand them, that's not a concern of mine. It is what I expect. They're the problem.

By discussing physics here, I am explaining things in dozens of different ways. That helps me find the way that is simplest and easiest for others to understand.

What is your problem with it? Or are you truly incapable of explaining anything?

Or is that that you believe in the #1 DUMBEST idea in physics, that all movement is reciprocal?

If you are on the express train traveling from New York to Washington and you pass the local train that is traveling slower and making many stops, a clock on the local train would be moving slower relative to you. And because the CLOCK is physically MOVING slower, it is TICKING FASTER. It is called "relativity."
