No, the twain are not equal. Ignorance and knowledge are simply not the
same thing. Pointing out your errors is not a "treatment", it's simply
pointing out errors.

Hmm, and you find no errors in your moon landing, worth pointing out. You
are superfluous with yours errors in physics.

I have the _relevant_ knowledge, yes. It didn't come easy, BTW, and it
wasn't acquired by assuming everyone was stupid.

I know you get off the rails at any hint of metaphor, simile, or shortcut.

And that's about your knowledge.

No, this was just a pun. You never got it.

He's talking about a different time when that treatment happened to him.
That's actually more important than the treatment he's gotten here. He
wouldn't have come here in the first place if he weren't angry to begin
with. He arrived here to dish out some of what he'd already received.

Men who pick drunken fights in bars were mad when they came in the door.
The drinks just lubricated their desire to hit someone.

You are probably right. He did post here once or twice in 1997 (IIRC) and
appeared normal. He returned in 2013 completely abnormal(*). So something
likely happened in-between.

(*) Not necessarily in the literal sense, of course, we are talking the
Internet persona only.

He says he's bored. Perhaps unemployed. Perhaps blames his unemployment

Alright, so let's get down to histories and get real about things.

It's obvious to anyone that you have had a bad interaction history with one
or more people that identified as professional physicists and who were
condescending to you. Perhaps at one point you wanted to be a physicist but
did not pass muster in your pursuits. Perhaps you worked in a group that
included physicists and there was just a bad social vibe in that work
environment. Perhaps something else that you can share.

Regardless, it has made you angry, not just at that individual or
individuals, but at the entire group of physicists as a class. And you have
vowed to exact revenge by returning the same treatment to them ALL that you
experienced yourself. If you felt spat on, then you will spit. If you felt
dismissed, then you will dismiss.

I will just comment that a wise man is recorded as commenting that holding
a grudge is like taking poison in the hope that the other person will die.

Or perhaps, very simply, for more than 20 years
I was trying to explain some basics to a bunch
of puffed morons convinced to be the elite.

So why would you want to waste your time explaining basics to a bunch of
puffed morons who feel that their case is stronger if they don't even
listen to what you say?

Anyway they don't want to be elite, they just run the scam to convince
everyone else they are elite. This is why things which do not agree with
their views are not welcome even when they know them to be true. That
would be like providing firm evidence that millions of illegals voted
against Trump to a bunch of Democrats. Think they will thank you for
setting them straight?

The society has trained me to do things
for its good (or die trying).
And, anyway, I'm bored.
