Considering the state of the universe immediately following the big bang, it seems reasonable to assume that there was no life then, just as there was no solar system like ours then . There is demonstrably life now, so sometime between then and now life must have come into existence, just as did our solar system. I call that evolving.

I call that > evolving. I believe that thinking "the universe" is all that there is, that there is no "multiverse" or that time had a beginning a finite time in the past, is thinking inside the box. There is much, much more to existence than in our "little box" :-) And even if life DID evolve in our box, our galaxy is twice as old as our solar system, so one SHOULD consider that civilizations on other planets just in our galaxy are billions of years ahead of us. And since our universe box is another 5 billion years older than our galaxy, we SHOULD consider that civilizations exist billions of years ahead of our own alien sages. NOT considering these things is parochial thinking. "There may be millions of inhabited worlds circling other suns, harboring beings who to us would seem godlike, with civilizations and cultures beyond our wildest dreams." -- Arthur C. Clarke So does God exist? It's a virtual certainty. Gary
