Ah, it's just the usual old-energy business (disguised as "politicians", really: bought government employees with influence) grasping at straws.

It never fails: the big private business will forever talk about "small government" and "let the market decide" but whenever push comes to shove it ALWAYS, with NO EXCEPTION EVER, turns into "run to the government to save us!"

the latest news (as I heard it) is that, 
those in power will definitely lower
the end of century temperature, by
two degrees, no matter what big

In Wormley physics earth is absorbing "enormous" energy but temperature 
is not going up! Oh well, maybe it will warm centuries later! Sam knows 
a lot about science!

There are three problems with this analysis: 

(1) The solar "constant" (1360.8 W/m²) varies by 0.1%, or 1.36 W/m².

(2) The earth's orbit is slightly elliptical, which means the amount of
energy available varies from the "constant" value by over 3%, or about
4 W!

(3) The albedo of the earth depends on cloud cover and several other
variables.  Some variables act to compensate for temperature increase
(negative feedback) and others act to promote it (positive feedback).
The earth's albedo is about 0.30 with fluctuations of about 0.2%.

Put all of this together and variations beyond our control amount to
ten times the so-called "imbalance."  Probably the most important number
for us to watch is the albedo, which has been constant in recent years.
Increasing forestation and decreasing polar ice lead to decreasing
albedo (and increasing heat input), so the deforestation going on in
the tropics is a good thing :-)

Consider also that alternative energy technology such as solar panels
absorb more energy than if they weren't there, so they actually cause
a greater energy imbalance.

If we REALLY wanted to reduce the energy input by 0.6 W/m², we could
put up aluminized mylar reflecting mirrors in orbit.  It would likely
be a LOT cheaper than trying to control the CO2 levels, which are
mostly increased by countries who cannot afford to (or don't want to)
reduce their carbon footprint.

Well, they shouldn't use a "Previously Thought" to determine the tempature of the earth's centre...don't
they have machines to measure this stuff...i don't trust their thoughts.
