Can someone explain to me what is the "Spectacular" part of this photo?




At fist I thought there
was a dirt mark on my
computer screen...
then I could not
understand what were the 'x'x'x'x'x's
now why is the sun color yellow?

I mean, I fail to see anything..."Spectacular"!


I can take a picture of the sun
and put my finger going past it..

So, I don't get it..


Can those guys at NASA just make up new planets pass Pluto for news items and extortion money?


Just say..."There is another planet pass Pluto, with hidden oceans and mysterios blinking lights...

do they need help from the science fiction groups? I don't think these guys at NASA know how to read anymore...

i mean...books.

Sure. The photographer had to be in just the right place, making sure that the ISS would pass between the Sun and himself. This alone takes some doing. Those X's you refer to are actually the solar panels of the ISS itself, and if you took the time to look at the full-size version of the picture...

... you could see what incredible detail this photographer captured. As stated on that page, this is a stacked composite of 5 frames, and the spacing between these frames is nearly perfect, to my eye.

The Sun is yellow in this picture because the photographer used a filter, obviously.

All in all, this is a marvelous photo.

  Tomohiro Nishikado did firmwhere and hardware in 1978 for Space 
Invaders, using intel 8080 (full 8 bit wide chip @ 2MHz!)

Jobs/Wozniak did apple 1 in 1976, Woz did most of the work.
