I would say it indicates it's "more likely," not that the evidence is
"overwhelming."

No, they're just repeating what other people told them, which is not
the same thing as a lying.

You should stick with the standard meaning for "AD." If your version
were correct, we would have no term for the years that Jesus was
around.

In your system, it would just be BC, then the time period that Jesus
lived, then AD.

On the 'There is no smoke without fire" principle and there is indeed
evidence of harm being done?

Well he have many stories about the legends of Robin Hood. His stick
fight on a bridge with John Little, the famous Friar Tuck Maid,
Marrion and the corrupt Shire Reeve of Nottingham. It has spawned TV
series and films but a search by a popular historian found absolutely
no evidence of his existence. An extensive search of parish births a
death records revealed but a few referencet o a 'Robin' but that was
it. It is thought that he was an amalgam of people who evaded justice
and were outlawed. Nottingham claims to be his home whilst
there is also a strong claim by Kirkless in Yorkshire to be his home.
It is where his alleged grave is, near to Kirkless Abbey (now no
longer extant) from where he shot his last arrow. The grave is on
private land deep in what is left of Kirkless forest.

There is more evidence of the famous Shire Reeve which was a good
example of the old adage that power corrupts absolutely. The office of
Shire Reeve was created by an early King seeking to establish the
King's Peace throughout his realm. The County Shire Reeve (Sheriff in
modern spelling) was, in effect the King in matters of law and
justice in his juris diction and answered only to he King. Fine when
the King was attentive to his duties but being a law until themselves
when the King was lax they became very corrupt. Instead of the office
being abolished the Shire Reeve was increasing sidelined. We still
have Sheriffs but they are now just High Court officials working under
the authority of a High court Judge

Nails were very expensive during the Roman period as well as hand made
so were very expensive and rare.

Would they really have used such expensive things to kill what to
the Romans was just a petty criminal when tying people to the cross
was more commonplace and much cheaper?

To those early Christians as now their Christ would have been central
to their lives and very important. As we know Christians like to
project their thoughts on to eveybody else so to these Christians they
could not possibly conceive of their Christ as being totally
unimportant to the Romans. Yes they admit he was killed alongside
two petty criminals as one of them but, they probably rationalised,
that the Romans only wanted him to appear a petty criminal (rather
than actually being considered as such). Only nails would
be good enough for such an important person so nails he must have
got

As an example of their thinking have you noted that in depictions
of the crucifiction Jesus is always shown in the centre between the
other two sometimes on a cross a little bit taller than the other and
right on the summit of a hill.

Mantegna shows him nailed with his arms spread whilst the other
two are tied with their arms above their heads. The great Giotto's
fresco has the three on very high posts Christ's being the highest.
UFO's are flying around them and one soldier has an incredibly long
lance to prod him with and he is sat on a horse!
