Easy, just use a Time Capsule Detector...

You forgot one other item that is on the surface...someone left it
there, do you know what it is?

Well, looking at your list, I guess you don't...

someone left
a bunch of
photographs
laying there..
on the surface
 of the moon.

That means...
if an alien from another
planet happens to arrive on
the Moon, he will say to his
alien from another planet..
"Look what I found laying on the ground!"

His friend will ask "What is it?"

"It's a color photo of earthlings!!!"

"What does the girl look like?"

"Whats a girl?"

Now, here is the photo of the family on the moon's surface ground...
http://fanpage.gr/pics/2015/10/25152.jpg

I don't know if he was authorized to leave it there..on the moon's ground,
but if the astronult was Black, they would have hanged him!

We certaintly cannot take the chance on letting the aliens know there are Black people on Earth.

The aliens might simply decide to blow up the planet instead.

Can you imagine a kid with an big afro in the picture on the Moon?

They would probably send somebody back to the moon to burn it!

I mean, what is that photo of a White family doing on the moon laying there?

I didn't authorize that!

The Starmaker -- To question the unquestionable, ask the unaskable,
to think the unthinkable, mention the unmentionable, and challenge
the unchallengeable.

So, what kind of message are they sending to aliens from another planet when they find this photo on our moon?

From its huge anomalous magnetic field.

Oh, no wait, that was a movie.

I think that they also used a similar technique on someone else's moon
in a half-Niven book.

There is a 90 degree cubic reflector mirror on the moon. I believe some earthlings left it there about 50 years ago.

But they contimated the moon when someone left that photo there...

If i was an alien from another planet I would not touch that photo...

it contains a virus seeking a host.

[I know, I know, Just Don't Look–but Starry seems even more obsessed

Uh, Starfaker, if it's actually only contaminated by a _virus,_ then
it's probably safe for anyone who _isn't_ a human being to be exposed to it.

Not likely to have any receptors for it to bond to to even begin
_attacking_ the 'host', after all.

Now, OTOH, if there happen to be _bacterial spores_ on the photo, you
might be onto something, Totally-alien bacteria are likely to be the
source of a quick death; either they'll secrete something toxic to the
new host (maybe even something innocuous to humans), or they'll simply
reproduce unchecked until they interfere with exolife functions by their
very presence where other cells need to be.

The word looked for is “contaminated”.

Nonsense.

You cannot know that. Terrestrial pathogens could affect an
extraterrestrial lifeform in a number of ways, particularly if it were
*humanoid*.

But then again, what insight into genetics to expect from a feline stepping
on a keyboard, crossposting across alt.ALL and the Big 8, across 4
newsgroups without Followup-To, 3 newsgroup of which the discussion is off-
topic?

It would have been much much better if they simply left a copy of Playboy magazine lying there.

What I find intriguing is the claim of a "giant step for the mankind".
Then they planted the US flag in the ground. (for whatever obscure
reason). What's the message, the ones outside US are not mankind?

I guess you weren't grown up enough when it happened to understand the
global politics of the time.

The message was the the USA was more advanced then the USSR.

How come when CCCP was the first in space exploration. And if no flag is
to be found over there, then you admit you are a batshit crazy.
