Probably right, but for the people living on the bank may take your 
scanning as instantaneous, which is magnitudes faster than the speed of 
light. Similarly, the speed of light through a rabbit hole, has to be 
faster following the path down to the destination. In essence, a curved 
path forces the speed of light to be faster, when compared to a straight 
path.
