Things are not proven in the natural sciences like (astro)physics/cosmology.  
Theories are confirmed or falsified through experiment/observation.  
Probably someone has told you this before.

No, it is not.  All “tired light” theories have been falsified by 
observation time and time again (1979, 1987, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2006,
2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015).  AISB (with references).
