Chapter 1 TEACHING TRUE MATHEMATICS, 2018, by Archimedes Plutonium

Preface: Now the 5,6,and 7 year olds, even though they can read somewhat, will not be able to read and understand what I say in the first chapters, to any degree of satisfaction. The words I use are too much for 5,6,7 year olds. So I enlist the help of parents to get their daughter or son; carry them through the first chapter in understanding my words and thoughts and lessons. So I enlist the help of parents and then, of course, the help of teachers.

Now, often, I talk to the teacher as well as the student, and this helps both.

Alright, this is the one math textbook that a student uses for all his/her math needs. It is designed like no other math textbook, for it spans all ages from 5-25, and where the student never needs to buy another textbook for math. This textbook is posted to the Internet so anyone not wanting to buy the book can just simply get it for free on the Internet-- see my newsgroup. And it is written like no other math book for it is written __Logically__, every topic follows logically from preceding topics.

Alright I devote the entire years 2018-19 to doing this textbook on math. A textbook like none other for it takes the student from age 5 through to age 25 for all their math studies, throughout the subject of mathematics. The one book for all of mathematics. Of course we can supplement with some outside sources like the common-core-curriculum, although I have found most math books are full of error. So I want the teacher to be very very careful that they do not use fake pollution math of other sources, especially those that still believe in Negative numbers, for negative numbers are fake math. Even TV shows like Odd Squad teach fake math with a lesson on negative numbers.

A prime reason I am writing this textbook is that I found so very very many mistakes in Old Math, that I decided Old Math was no longer worth correcting, because I was correcting nearly everything in Old Math. That I decided to throw Old Math out altogether and start fresh and new. At first I thought I could start this text at age 8, thinking that there was no pollution of fake math below age 8. But in writing this textbook, I realized that Negative numbers do not exist and that I had to drop down to age 5, because Negative Numbers were being taught on TV like the show "Odd Squad".

I am happy I dropped down from age 8 to age 5 because in the process of writing to 5,6,7 year olds, I learned and discovered more math which I just did not know before.

So, let us get going and please, have Parents of pupils teach their daughters and sons chapter 1. For math is increasingly a science that is fundamental in so many careers of life. Most of the best careers in life have to have a fair amount of mathematics training, and so to give your son or daughter the best chance in learning math, the parents should be a prime force in teaching chapter 1. I suspect, there is nothing in Chapter 1 that all parents do not know, or can easily figure out or understand. And since I want this textbook a universal textbook of mathematics, you can easily get help from other people-- neighbors, teachers, friends. A universal text on mathematics is what is needed in this 21st century. And if someone moves to a new school, well-- everyone is using this same textbook.

So, what I am going to need is to enlist the parents to do the bulk of the teaching of math to their children aged 5, 6, 7. To teach them the first chapter of this textbook, for some children are at different speeds of learning at this young age. I know myself had a hard time of telling time at a young age, reading the clock was difficult for me at a young age, and so other students have difficulties in various topics. In reading the clock which my classmates all knew how, I was confused by 60 when I thought every system was 100.

So parents need to guide their daughter and son for the ages 5,6,7, and make it easy on the teachers of these ages. Who have a job of teaching language-- Reading and Writing, along with Arithmetic.

One of the reasons math is hard for students, is because the parents do not emphasize it enough, but if the parents get involved, the student quickly realizes this is important.

Now for age 5, I have a set amount of achievement that must be reached. The student must be able to count from 0 to 1 to 100 and be able to write down all those numbers, like this 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, . . . 99, 100. And be able to say those numbers. I do not care if the parent or teacher uses crayons, which I remember in Grade School. Pencil to me is just fine, for we can erase and use less paper. So at minimum age 5, I want the student to count to 100, say each number out loud by its words, and write each number. Also, at age 5, a little bit of addition such as 1+1, or 1+2, simple addition.

For age 6, at minimum I want the student to be able to do addition of all numbers in 1 to 100, and a little bit of subtraction and multiplication at age 6.

By age 7, I want the student to be able to do add, subtract, multiply of any of the numbers from 1 to 100, and at this age, the memorization of the multiplication table is required. So that is a big big project-- student memorizes the multiplication table. Knows the answer without thinking. What is 9 x 6, what is 8 x7. I do not want to see some students straggle and struggle in class when their peers are breezing through. So here the parents have to monitor and keep their child on track.

1-1 Lesson: Numbers, Counting, writing numbers// age 5, TEACHING TRUE MATHEMATICS

Alright, I learned a valuable lesson here myself, that any large science starts in education by some memorization, as a key or entry into the subject, so that all participants have a foundation base to work from. Since I start this book for 5 year olds, the key memorization foundation is counting numbers, writing numbers, and later on, the multiplication table memorized. But before we get to memorizing the multiplication table, we need to learn and memorize the counting numbers, how to write them, how to say them, how to count them. Our goal is to write, say and count the numbers from 0, to 1 to 100.

I need parents and teachers help on getting 5 year olds to count from 0 to 100 and to say all those numbers in order and to be able to write them in order.

You can use pencil and paper, or chalk board. And if the pupil finds it easy, well, ask them if they can count backwards from 100.
If they find that easy, ask them if they can count by fives, 5, 10, 15, . . . If they can count by 2s, 2, 4, 6, 8, ...

To be able to write each of the numbers from 0 to 100 and to pronounce each of those numbers by their name

0 is "zero"
1 is "one"
2 is "two"
.
.
.
22 is "twenty-two"

Now this is still age 5, so nothing hard here. But if the pupil can do a little bit of addition. Show the add symbol as + and the symbol of equal as =

And do some simple adding of 1 + 1 =

1 + 2 =

3 + 1 =

Just easy simple add.

If Parents can aid their child in getting counting and simple add at 5 years of age is much appreciated so that the teacher can reinforce that math.

AP

1-2 Lesson: // more add, and a bit of subtract and multiply, age 6, TEACHING TRUE MATHEMATICS

At 5 years we learned some simple add, now we learn more and more add. And a bit of subtraction and a bit of multiplication, not hard, just some simple subtraction and multiplication. So at age 5 we learned some add of the numbers from 0 to 10, but now we learn more add, say for example 10 + 11 and for the parent to place in column form and show the pupil how to add

   11
+10
-------
   21

Parents are a valuable resource for students at young age, for what Parents know of Arithmetic, should not be wasted, and they should be enlisted to teach their child, Arithmetic. A parent can spend so much more quality time on teaching arithmetic than a teacher with a class of 30, having to teach many other things such as Reading and Writing.

So let us not waste Parent knowledge of arithmetic.

At age 6, the goal is add proficiently of any two numbers from 0 to 100. Now at first confine it to being 100 answer or below, but if the pupil finds that easy, well, go above 100. And go several numbers, not just two.

23
14
  9
  3
+
___

Now by 6 years of age, we do a bit of subtraction, not much just a introduction and we show the subtraction sign as -

We teach the student that subtraction means "Remove", for remove is a excellent meaning of the word "subtract"

So we say 2 subtract 1 is written as 2 - 1 = and it equals 1.

Bring wood cube blocks for the pupil and show 2 blocks subtract 1 means remove 1 block and you have remaining 1 block.

Now be age 6, even age 5, on TV is a kids show of Odd Squad, very entertaining for children, however in one episode they do Negative Numbers. They do a disservice to math education for no negative numbers ever exist.

So, now, teach the 6 year old, that in subtraction, you cannot do 1 - 2 for you cannot remove 2 blocks when only 1 block exists. Negative Numbers are fakery. And so, if your pupil has seen Odd Squad and asks about negative numbers. You have to tell them negative numbers are fakery. And a rule of Arithmetic, for they are doing arithmetic, a rule is that you cannot subtract more than what is available.

Both Parent and Teacher-- explain this to your pupil/s, and turn off Odd Squad when they do negative numbers. And, teachers, do not introduce the Common Core Curriculum that has negative numbers. They are pollution to math and science.

So do a lot of subtraction, simple subtraction:

2 - 1 =

3-2 =
4 - 2 =
10 - 5 =

8- 4 =
.
.
.

A bit of multiplication:

Parents and teachers, teach the pupil/s that Multiplication is Rapid Add. Adding that is rapid. Show them the wooden cube blocks and make arrays of 2 by 2

H H
H H

or 2 by 3

H H
H H
H H

or 3 by 3

H H H
H H H
H H H

or 2 by 5

H H
H H
H H
H H
H H

Do many more arrays than what I have shown.

then ask the 6 year olds to add or count how many blocks

Use many, many wood cube blocks in these lessons, both at home by parents and in school by teachers. Young pupils need to see objects not just hear talk but see some solid objects when doing math. For here I am in my 60s of age and still get out my wood blocks to do geometry ideas. For I often find that geometry can be tricky when you do it just in the head, you need to see some actual objects to make the geometry correct.

Wood cube blocks are excellent for multiplication and for subtraction to teach that subtraction is remove.

Then show them that multiplication saves time in adding, that 2 x 5 = 10 rather than add and count each single block.

So do a huge list of simple multiplication problems, and since these are 6 year olds, keep it at small numbers like 2 x3 or 3 x4

So by end of age 6, the student knows the numbers from 0 to 100, can count them, can write them, can add some, can do a bit of subtraction and a bit of multiplication.

WARNING TO PARENTS: Archimedes Plutonium is offering to trach your children
his broken math. BEWARE! He will corrupt the minds of your children! He
teaches there are no negative numbers, no complex numbers, he teaches a
sine wave isn't a sine wave plus many, many other instances of bad math.
Nobody knows why he wishes to corrupt the minds of children like this.
Perhaps he wants everyone to be a failure at math, just like he is.
Perhaps he is an agent of Putin and Russia, or maybe of China, in order
to make sure they will continue to dominate the trade economy. But the
point is, stay away, if he offers to give or sell you his dangerous book!
