Fossils store most of the CO2 in riffs and mountains.

C and E News today mentions that it was discovered that basalt rock
could absorb CO2 much faster than previously thought, less than 2 years
vs centuries. They said it was an important new find. Gives new
options for CO2 sequestration.

The idea is beyond stupid - it is totally idiotic. The energy
requirements alone for accomplishing this would mean
a huge increase in the consumption of fossil fuels
which is why the energy companies love the idea because
even though it makes the problem much worse it
  does make them richer.

I'm just commenting not reporting what I read today.
My opinion is the same as yours. Most of these things to supposedly
prevent global warming consume more resources than those they save.

That would be moltan basalt rock which means you have to pipe the CO2 to
a volcano or Iceland.
