You knew, of course, the Heritage Foundation is a political
and religious advocacy organization. It is not at all a
source for science or technology. Among other things,
Heritage Foundation created the Project 2025 document, an
outline for dismantling democracy in the USA.

You also know, or you should know, that solar electric is
generally cheaper to install and operate than any fossil
fueled power source. Straight up, without subsidy.

Shouldn't you be asking why we are compelled to subsidize
fossil fuel?

(snip lies and dissemblance)

No that's ridiculous. He's a conservative. No way would he ask that.
Fossil fuels or bust, he says because he's from the same mold as
Skeeter and CrudeSausage. They will all say, burn fuel, petroline
and jet fuel. They will tell you say no to solar power. It's bad,
they have to say.

A given as we *know* how many it employs domestically (not in Jina) and
how oil is ubiquitous in so many other *vital* consumer products, like
say...PLASTICS!

AI Overview
Petrochemicals derived from oil and natural gas are used to manufacture
over 6,000 everyday products. Because petroleum by-products are highly
versatile, crude oil is a foundational ingredient in up to 96% of the
manufactured goods people use daily.

Common items made from petroleum include:
Electronics: Smartphones, computers, and televisions.
Clothing & Textiles: Polyester, nylon, acrylic, and synthetic rubber.
Healthcare & Beauty: Pharmaceuticals, IV bags, artificial limbs,
cosmetics, and shampoo.
Household Items: Trash bags, detergents, non-stick coatings, and food
packaging.
Transportation & Infrastructure: Asphalt, tires, and motor oil.

This is why you are DUMPED Rudey, constant partisan windshield wiper
action from you, coupled with utterly false attributions.

No one has to say any such thing, oh builder of straw men.

But you need to be reviled for who and what you truly are.

This little squirt who posts under a great number of nyms
http://bit.ly/1MU8oan boasts about having a Ph. D. in economics and goes
around threatening people with physical violence, and so he should be made
known to you here in alt.california and his other main haunts because he
often tries to make fellow participants known to their fellow participants.
The list of nyms he uses, often multiple times to argue and defeat himself
in a bid to feel triumphant, is far from complete and is still growing.

No, that's false. I haven't refuted any points or argument here because he
hasn't presented any to me. I merely followed him over here because he won't
defend himself in the newsgroup he usually trolls where he's been dodging
people, including myself, for fifteen years.

 >Now can your post any personal information about you

You need only go to the newsgroup I've been posting regularly from for
nearly fifteen years, with my full name in the legitimate email address I
use at alt.animals.ethics.vegetarian to see that Jonathan was the first to
reveal my email address today after being pressured by me to come
clean about the lies he's been spreading about having gained a Ph. D. in
economics. Sure, my full address has been posted there before and I have no
problem with that. Jonathan, on the other hand, hides behind a growing list
of nyms to keep his identity secret while posting the details of others. I'm
certainly not the first person who's identity and personal home address has
been revealed by him, and I definitely won't be the last. If he wants to
make a new post with my full name and address as the subject title, he
should expect the same in return. Now that you're aware he posted my
particulars in the subject headers before I retaliated are you going to say
that he has discredited himself more than me by doing such a thing?

 >and how you arrive at the drivel you are posting?

I haven't been posting any drivel. To dodge explaining why he lied about his
academic achievements, or lack of them, he tried to turn the tables by
writing that I "clumsily pretend to a level of education and
sophistication [I] don't have, striving earnestly for good marks
It's fake - but also funny. It's also sad, because it bespeaks a
massive insecurity." That's simply not true. I haven't boasted about my
academic achievements. There's nothing really to boast about. Jon, though,
has lied about his, and the proof is found in Google archives, no matter how
strongly he resents it. Years ago he often used to state that he tried but
failed to complete a Ph. D. program in economics at UCLA.

“For the record, I did not complete my Ph.D. program
in economics at UCLA, and I have never worked as an
economist.”
Jonathan Ball 8 Nov 2002 http://tinyurl.com/53e2m2

and

"... it's important to me to be known as honest. Honesty
compels me to admit that I didn't complete my Ph.D."
Jonathan Ball 08 Jun 2003 http://bit.ly/1NdkK0O

Fair enough. No problem, though I did doubt that honesty compelled him to do
anything. But then I found posts he's made in Google archives pretending the
exact opposite, stating under no uncertain terms that he had in fact gained
something which honesty compelled him to deny he'd achieved.

Nope. Ph.D. in economics; UCLA.]

And so it is Jonathan, not I who "clumsily pretend to a level of education
and sophistication [he doesn't] have, striving earnestly for good marks
It's fake - but also funny. It's also sad, because it bespeaks a massive
insecurity." Hope that helps.

Better go check his group. Derek is right. Jonathan Ball did start a

ST. HELENS, Ore. — Dozens of Oregon teachers had their licenses revoked
for sexual violations against students over the past six years, according
to a KGW analysis of public records and teacher disciplinary rulings. In
total, 60 teachers lost their licenses following "sexual conduct"
investigations from Oregon's Teacher Standards and Practices Commission
(TSPC).

Following high-profile cases in St. Helens and Banks, KGW submitted public
records requests for teacher misconduct and TSPC investigation data to
better understand the scope of educator abuse across Oregon.

In addition to the 60 sexual conduct revocations, 21 teachers had their
licenses revoked for other sexual transgressions that were classified
differently by the TSPC, according to KGW's review of revocation orders.
Most of these revocations were connected to "boundaries" cases, often
related to grooming allegations.

"The numbers are higher than I thought they would be, it's really sad to
hear how high they are," said Amber Kinney, an attorney who specializes
in child abuse cases.

Breaking it down by year:

6 teachers had their licenses revoked for sexual conduct in 2019
11 teachers had their licenses revoked for sexual conduct in 2020
8 teachers had their licenses revoked for sexual conduct in 2021
15 teachers had their licenses revoked for sexual conduct in 2022
13 teachers had their licenses revoked for sexual conduct in 2023
7 teachers had their licenses revoked for sexual conduct in 2024
TSPC data shows that an additional 36 "sexual conduct" cases and 116
"boundaries" cases are under active investigation.

"The number of revoked licenses doesn't reflect the victim count and it
doesn't reflect the predator count," said Peter Janci, attorney for Crew
Janci LLP, a firm that represents sexual abuse victims. "We know from our
work in this area that it's very difficult to get teachers to the point
where their license is actually revoked, and even if they are reported,
they may not have discipline against them."

St. Helens incidents
Gabe Barker and Anna Boiko, seniors at St. Helens High School, said their
school year has been shrouded by scandal.

"It's been shocking because just more and more keeps coming out about it,"
Barker said.

Barker's former choir teacher, Eric Stearns, faces 29 sexual abuse charges
against 16 different people. Retired math teacher Mark Collins is accused
of sexual abuse against four different students.

"It's kind of hard for people to trust their teachers," Boiko said.

St. Helens Superintendent Scot Stockwell recently resigned after four
months on leave, and high school principal Katy Wagner is currently on
leave, accused of failing to report the abuse.

"I feel like students aren't safe, still," Barker said.

Janci noted that well-publicized cases with criminal charges like the ones
in St. Helens represent only a fraction of concerning incidents statewide.

"It's the tip of the iceberg," Janci said. "It's a much more pervasive
problem — many of the cases that we've handled involve predators who are
never reported."

Cases span many districts
Oregon's TSPC investigates reported abuse and posts final discipline
orders online, often years after a case is first reported.

While publicly available, the current website does not allow for the
sorting of final orders by case type, such as sexual conduct, or other
details. KGW used a public records request to further sort through the
data and find examples of educator sexual abuse.

Among the cases, a 17-year old girl said a Hillsboro teacher sent her
explicit photos and videos, kissed her, touched her, and attempted to have
sex with her.

A Woodburn teacher had sex with a student and then paid the student
$20,000 in exchange for a thumb drive of explicit photos he had sent,
before he was later criminally charged.

A Portland student said a teacher started grooming her when she was 15 —
texting, sending snapchats, sending nude photos, and having video phone
sex.

These three teachers, and nearly every teacher accused of sexual abuse,
declined to interview with TSPC investigators, limiting the release of
information and instead having their licenses revoked by default.

Spotting sex abuse cases
Kinney and Janci said common patterns leading to sexual abuse include
teachers isolating kids and messaging with them privately on social media.

"Grooming is the gateway to sexual abuse, most cases start out where
grooming occurs," Kinney said.

Janci said there have been indications of "boundary" violations in nearly
every sexual abuse case he's ever handled — evidence that adults need to
speak up sooner.

"When we see red flag behavior, we immediately intervene and we alert the
experts so that they can do proper investigations," Janci said. "We make
sure that predators don’t continue to have access to kids while
investigations are going on, and also we need to continue to reinforce the
victims that this isn't their fault, they're not alone and things can get
better."

He believes children are increasingly willing to speak out about abuse,
but still, not every concern goes reported. Barker and Boiko said it's
about finding adults who will amplify students' concerns.

"I feel like kids haven't ever been afraid to actually speak up about
anything, but it's been getting the right voice to speak up about it,"
Barker said.

Systemic issues
Oregon law makes individual school districts responsible for educator
background checks, which includes contacting previous employers and
checking for TSPC discipline orders.

However, state investigations can take years to complete, very few
"failure to report" cases are ever filed, and some abuse allegations are
kept quiet.

"There has historically been a common practice of 'passing the trash,'
which is sort of insider lingo for allowing a teacher to quietly resign
and move on to another position," Janci said.

Janci said he believes Oregon should expand reporting requirements and
tighten background checks within the state. There’s no state record of how
many concerning teachers have moved from one district to the next.

"If you don't fix the culture and the system that those people are
operating in, you're playing whack-a-mole, you're getting one predator and
waiting for the next one to pop up," he said.

TSPC uses a national clearinghouse called NASDTEC to identify educators
who have been disciplined by other state education and licensing agencies.
The commission also continues each investigation and makes a case
determination, even when educators resign their positions within a school
district or offer to surrender their licenses voluntarily.

Cristina Edgar, Director of Professional Practices with TSPC, said
failure-to-report cases are rare due to the challenge in establishing
clear evidence that an educator had knowledge of abuse and willfully
failed to report it.

"Improving accountability in mandatory reporting is an ongoing priority,"
Edgar wrote in an email to KGW. "Increased training for educators on their
legal responsibilities, clearer reporting protocols within school
districts, and stronger interagency collaboration between schools, law
enforcement, and regulatory bodies could enhance reporting practices."

Barker and Boiko said students just want to be believed and supported, and
for adults to be more vigilant.

“It's hard to talk. So, friends, teachers, all these people who say
[they're looking out], they need to talk," Boiko said.

Just as abortion is unwelcome in some states - the WILL OF THE PEOPLE
has spoken.

Thank GOD we live in a nation where the 50 separate states can chart
their own societal paths.

I care NOT to be taxed for their lifestyle choices, and that includes
subsidized abortion too.

Tranny Derangement Syndrome is sweeping red state America as Conservatvive
administrations crack down on Trannies and continue to tolerate their
fellow Conservative Christians in the clergy and priesthood who rape
children.

Under Trump, the USA has more gays than any country in the world and that
alone explains why we're losing the war we started with Iran.

The Transgender problem has worsened since Trump's first term where it hit
new highs.

Like all MAGA Republican Trump supporters, I can't stop obsessing over how
trannies have taken over and now outnumber us 6:1. Ever since Trump too
office and runs the government, all I hear about is transgenders this and
transgender that.
It's on the rise and they're taking over. It's all they talk about on
Newsmax, One America and Fox News.

Why aren't we gassing and burning those perverts like Chancellor Hitler
used to do with the fags, gypsies, socialists and Joos? The President
needs to grow a spine.

A big part of Trump's origin story has to do with a fateful encounter with
a transgender back in the 1970s during his personal Vietnam days.

As a boy, Trump was raped by a Transgender at a Drag Show and it turned out
to be his father. As a result, all his followers fear being raped by
Transgenders who are their fathers at Drag Shows.

Rightists have lost the culture war.
