100x100 miles solar panels + 1 mile square battery enough for USA ----------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.inverse.com/article/34239-how-many-solar-panels-to-power-the-usa This cheaper than all the power station + mining + transport infrastructure because there is no need for mining and transport infrastructure. And if done in a desert, its land put to good use too. The same technology will work identically in Africa, Middle East, Europe, India, China, Australia making cheaper to do on a global scale - global effort not really needed as any country can do it alone - but better with global planning best much like effort to wipe out Polio.
