I walked out of a pizzeria in Alabama in the '70s when they insisted
that I had to try their pizza with grits as a topping. I did the same at
another that insisted on Pineapple as a topping.
I've tried grits three times, and I ended up sick, every time. I
will go hungry before I ever touch that crap, again.

It is corn that was soaked in a solution of Lye and water. It felt
like a lump of concrete in my stomach, and it took a week to pass. I
love corn, but not grits.

My point was that they didn't want to make what I ordered. I wanted
