Unfortunately, the independent fork of Thunderbird doesn't allow
filtering on the Path header, I was hoping someone upstream of me and
most sci.cryptp participants could cut off the feed from Google until
they clean up their act, perhaps as was historically done against
CompuServe and UUNET when they were being similarly harmful.

I have already tried reporting a bunch of the @gmail.com originated Spam
via Google's own interface. It's a slow process requiring multiple
pointless web site clicks for each piece of Spam.

SunSite.dk/SunSite.aau.dk/SunSite.auc.dk is the old name of DotSrc.org,
and has a high number of protocol errors when I use it in another role,
which is one of 3 reasons I pay for a Giganews subscription for my
office use. The third is that according to the page you linked, they
don't currently carry the sci.* hierarchy.

Also NNTP(S) is not a variant of HTTP(S), it doesn't matter if the
provider website uses https.

Yeah, I'll get to work right away writing a doctoral dissertation on it,
to prove every little point in 500 pages of boilerplate and citations,
just for you! And you'll read the first paragraph of the abstract and
assert that nothing in the dissertation can be true, right?

But since you like to arrogantly assert the charge of "conspiratorial
thinking" with no facts to back up your charge, you can read these articles.

Behaviors observed by disinformation and disruption agents are codified
in this article:

The Gentleperson's Guide To Forum Spies : COINTELPRO Techniques for
dilution, misdirection and control of a internet forum
https://cryptome.org/2012/07/gent-forum-spies.htm

"There are several techniques for the control and manipulation of a
internet forum no matter what, or who is on it. We will go over each
technique and demonstrate that only a minimal number of operatives can
be used to eventually and effectively gain a control of a 'uncontrolled
forum.' .......... Remember these techniques are only effective if the
forum participants DO NOT KNOW ABOUT THEM. Once they are aware of these
techniques the operation can completely fail, and the forum can become
uncontrolled."

Edward Snowden revealed some information on these disruption activities:

THE WORST SNOWDEN REVELATION OF THEM ALL: DIGITAL COINTELPRO
https://popularresistance.org/the-worst-snowden-revelation-of-them-all-digital-cointelpro/

"Cass Sunstein, President Obama’s close advisor and head of a commission
to “reform” the NSA, has long advocated infiltrating online communities
devoted to supposedly dangerous “conspiracy theories,” and otherwise
steering online discourse in a more pro-government direction – and it
looks like his ideas are being put into practice. The new documents
promise a “full rollout complete by early 2013,” with “500+ GCHQ
analysts” on the job – and how many from the NSA and US law enforcement
agencies?"

If you think random hackers are sending a flood of spam advertisements
to sci.crypt because they expect for one second they are going to get a
customer, you're not doing field analysis. It's a digital disruption
campaign. The spam is the point. Wilful ignorance won't make it go away.

Online searches for these subjects will reveal information about their
disruption campaign components:

- Digital COINTELPRO
- PRISM
- JTRIG
- IIA (Internet Influence Activities)
- ShadowNet
- Operation Glowing Symphony
- Internet Magicians

Glenn Greenwald, the Author who broke the Snowden leaks, has written
reams about these kinds of disruption activities carried out by numerous
government intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

Many leaked documents detail anti-hacktivist campaigns, industrial
espionage campaigns, character assassination campaigns, confusion and
distraction campaigns, all being done under the aegis of government
agencies. But none of that exists because you said the magic word,
"conspiratorial."

The Secret Service is one of many agencies that routinely prosecute
black hats. They offer plea deals to the blackhats to have them work as
disruption and espionage informants. They even had some of these types
illegally employed in the Silk Road case, working an illegal parallel
construction to set up Ross Ulbricht while the other insiders got away
free. Several Federal agents working that case were prosecuted and sent
to prison for their illegal activities in the case. Meanwhile the real
villains in the Silk Road case, some Federal agency insiders, sat back
and enjoyed their tidy profits.

But just say the word, "conspiracy" and none of that matters!

Will the whole world upstream for you jump to and grant your wish?

If your news agent won't let you implement a proper spam filter, get
another news agent and stop being irascible. Instead of adapting your
tool, you expect some random upstream strangers to move the entire
Internet for your little self. I told you how to solve your problem and
now you want to propose little omnipotent wishes that will make everyone
else solve your problem for you.

I didn't say to report spam to google. I suggested that you to blacklist
google, then report any spam to the other free providers that might be
used as origin by the spammer. Not only do you have infantile
expectations that the universe and everyone in it will block spam for
you, so you don't have to change to better software--you also have
reading comprehension problems.

"... when I use it in another role ..." So you're a nym-shifting troll?
Gravy. No wonder you have comprehension problems.

Did you try the other providers, sparky? Everything is all about you and
your convenience, isn't it? Two of the providers I listed carry almost
every known text group.

> Also NNTP(S) is not a variant of HTTP(S), it doesn't matter if the
> provider website uses https.

Wow. Your obliviousness to reality is astounding. Have you been drinking
much today?

Look at the list again. The list has HTTP URLs, not NNTP URLs. Your
mention of NNTP links is irrelevant. They are links to web pages. They
are not NNTP server addresses.

The "no https" info was provided because they are HTTP links to HTTP
pages. Two of them have no HTTPS certificates, so the info in
parenthesis says, "no https." They are not NNTP links. You are trying to
act smart when you're just proving you have problems with reading
comprehension.

All people make mistakes and all people have moments of inattention. But
when that inattention appears to be a character trait we have a failure
to communicate.

Guys, adding noise doesn't help the S/N ratio one little bit.

Has either one of you even bothered to glance at the only actual

Yep, I even replied to one of those posts asking for more information.

Note to CRYP7010G3R:

I know that lots of bad stuff is being done by rogue intelligence
services. A list of all their crimes (related or not) is not a
relevant answer to any questions if a particular action is theirs.

As to my other role, that role still uses my real name, but a
different e-mail server and Organization header.

Enjoy

One common practice that attackers employ to evade detection is to break into poorly secured systems and use those hijacked systems as proxies through which they can launch and route attacks. Attackers effort on this platform are useless because we use a strong proxy firewall switching and a firm security system to prevent unauthorized bodies from tracking or modifying our network accessible resources. I.e the hacker and clients are 100% safe and anonymous.

Secondly,

ADVANTAGE TO CLIENTS:

• REPEAT CLIENTS and SERVICES: E.g, after helping a client recover all money lost to fraudulent practices, most of this clients comes back requesting we provide the same service in disguise as another person. We found a way to issue serial Numbers to each clients who seeks our help and services for identification purposes because we are not interested in your names nor location. But we urge that individuals shouldn't abuse this opportunities as we have provided value to you.

However, on this platform of recovery, you will be assigned to a designated professional hacker who is systematically known for operating on a dark web protocol. The operation of these hackers is to potentially deploy a distinguished cyber security technique to retrieving back the victims stolen funds via the application of a diverse CM breacher which enables you to track the data location of a scammer and extract every data on the con database. This is achieved using the systematic courier tracking method.

Which of the uneasy situation do you find yourself in right now?

(BITCOIN INVESTMENTS, BINARY OPTIONS OR LOAN SCAM?

This shocking study points to one harsh reality we all face today. It saddens our mind when a client expresses annoyance or dissatisfaction of unethical behaviors of scammers. I don't think that this is real spam but I suppose it is a single
troll (or the bot of a troll) who tries to make the group unreadable.
But it doesn't matter, usenet is already dead, and there is no big
difference whether there are no postings at all or only crap postings
of a troll.

But to be on-topic: http://ikomi.de/qr.mp4

Posting on-topic material is the only way and we all have lots of other
things to do! I did post a challenge for the holidays and I think a
couple of people looked at it.

Sorry, your repeated spamming of your old HMAC-cipher doesn't answer
anything. Nor do in-jokes based on SCOS, which only a handful of group
members ever managed to implement.

Anyways, if this group has been successfully murdered by an attack gang,
what is the alternative forum in which to publicly discuss cryptographic
ideas by westerners that are not published IACR scientists?

Enjoy

Fwiw, at least is has all of my code. It's a very inefficient quick and
dirty port of my experiment to JavaScript.

It took me a while to finally be able to implement SCOS for myself. It
has a little twister in its logic...

Agreed. Nor do your complaints. Where is your signal?

It was hardly difficult, my dear fellow.

The murder is only successful if we allow it to be. Why not
publicly discuss cryptographic ideas right here instead of
wasting bandwidth moaning that SCOS was too complicated?

This is an unmoderated group, so you can't do anything against
the spam. And this group shouldn't exit at all because there
are sub-groups and if sub-groups are generated, the parent
group has to be deleted.

But you can cross post any article to the empty sub-group
sci.crypt.random-numbers and add a note, that every on-topic post
in this group can also be read in sci.crypt.random-numbers, but
without any spam postings. You can't use sci.crypt.research
for a cross-post, because this group is moderated with most
probably no moderator left.

=============================================================

And to stay on-topic:

Got aware that VLC can read the video file by stdin. So I
wrote a small utility to use this feature to play encrypted
video files. Download it (source included) from:

http://onlib.de/pub/pfv/pfv.zip

or execute the batch code at the end of this posting to generate
the executable pfv.exe.

There is also a demo file:

http://onlib.de/pub/pfv/demo.pfv (33 MByte)

with a few small encrypted videos embedded.

=============================================================

Privacy For Videos (aes256 encryption for videos)

This utility can be use to display encrypted videos in
combination with the VLC media player:

usage: pfv.exe number : password1 : password2 : inputfile >outputfile

password is a 43 character string with the characters A-Z a-z 0-9 / +
Any other character is ignored. If less characters are provided, the
string is padded with +. Therefore you should not use a password which
ends with a +, because, for example, the two passwords "abc" and "abc++++"
are both extended to "abc++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++"
and therefore "abc++++" is not more secure than "abc". The binary
256 bit key for aes is generated by base64 decoding the given 43
character password.

To encrypt a video file "video1.mp4" with the password "hello world"
(note: the space in the password is ignored, so "helloworld" or
"hello_world" would be the same), use:

pfv.exe :: hello world : video1.mp4 >video1.pfv

The file size of the output file is increased to a multiple
of 1 MByte.

Note: if you repeat this command, you will get a different
binary, but it still is a valid encrypted version of the video.

To decrypt this encrypted video use:

pfv.exe : hello world :: video1.pfv >video2.mp4

video1.mp4 and video2.mp4 are then identical files.

To directly play an encrypted video use:

pfv.exe : hello world :: video1.pfv | C:\path_to_vlc\vlc.exe -

To re-encrypt a video with a different password without first
decrypting it (no decrypted version of the video is temporarily
stored on the disk), use:

pfv.exe : old password : new password : inputfile > outputfile

If you have more encrypted videos, for example:

video1.pfv (encrypted with password "pass1")
video2.pfv (encrypted with password "pass1")
video3.pfv (encrypted with password "pass2")
video4.pfv (encrypted with password "pass1")

you can copy them all into one big file (but there
is a 4 GByte limit for FAT filesystems):

copy /b video1.pfv + video2.pfv + video3.pfv + video4.pfv all.pfv

To play vidoe1 use:
pfv.exe : pass1 :: all.pfv | C:\path_to_vlc\vlc.exe -

To play vidoe2 use:
pfv.exe 2 : pass1 :: all.pfv | C:\path_to_vlc\vlc.exe -

To play vidoe3 use:
pfv.exe : pass2 :: all.pfv | C:\path_to_vlc\vlc.exe -

To play vidoe4 use:
pfv.exe 3 : pass1 :: all.pfv | C:\path_to_vlc\vlc.exe -

The number specifies which of the videos encrypted with
the given password should be decrypted. If the number
is 0 or omitted, 1 is used (video4 is the 3. video
encrypted with pass1 in the input file).

If you use ">outfile" instead of "|vlc -" you can
extract the video from the multi-video file (encrypted
or unencrypted depending on a given second password).

The program is pretty slow, but a standard PC should be
be able to decode at least Full HD videos.

If you put this batch on your desktop,

@echo off
set /p p=Password:
set p=&cls&pfv :%p%::%1|C:\path_to_vlc\vlc.exe -

you can use the mouse to drop a encrypted video on it.
It then asks for the password and plays the video.

If you use multi video files, use this batch:

@echo off
set /p p=Number:Password:
set p=&cls&pfv %p%::%1|D:\Programme\vlc\vlc.exe -

In this case you must enter the number and password
separated by a ":", for example: 3:mypassword

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The demo file demo.pfv contains 3 videos and a zip file:

video 1:  a cat video
            password "only cats no dogs"
video 2: a qr code video
            password "hack me if you can"
video 3: a picture slide show video
            password again "only cats no dogs"
zip file: a zip file with some original pictures of the slide show
            password  "who cares"

to play video 1 use:
pfv :only cats no dogs::demo.pfv| C:\path_to_vlc\vlc.exe -

to play video 2 use:
pfv :hack me if you can::demo.pfv| C:\path_to_vlc\vlc.exe -

to play video 3 use:
pfv 2:only cats no dogs::demo.pfv| C:\path_to_vlc\vlc.exe -

to extract the zip file use:
pfv :who cares::demo.pfv > cats.zip

If you decode the qr code video, you will get a zip file
with some pictures. The password for the pictures is:
"The quick brown fox jump"

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Here the binary of pfv.exe (just execute the batch below to
generate the binary):

@echo off
certutil -f -decode %~f0 pfv.exe>nul
goto :eof

It seems general public interest in cryptology has waned in the past
decade. Recent developments have created confusion and hysteria that
may also be a deterrent to otherwise curious souls.

I am working piecemeal on just such an alternative to this very
concern raised by Jakob. Where can genteel adults work on cryptosystems
and protocols, translations, languages, and symbolism, past and present?
Where can they share ideas and tools free of cranky axe-grinder noise
and disruption? The answer is basically, 'nowhere' unless you enroll in
a PHD program and play 'publish or perish' for the rest of your career.
The other alternative I can surmise is working on something behind a
private network, where someone is getting funding for its product.

See https://sybershock.com. I'm ironing the kinks out of a hybrid
NNTP/Web forum over the next 'months of Sundays.' This forum will be
open for these kinds of works. The current group selection is just for
testing. In final form public Usenet groups will be hidden from the
web forum.

Only persons with a publicly-accessible body of work will be permitted
to join the forum. Lack of work product means no posting access.
Details are in the TOS on the site.

Political, religious, partisan, and ideological recruitment of any kind
will be forever strictly prohibited on the platform. Flaming,
name-calling, trolling, spamming, racial slurs, crank, crank-baiting,
wank, woo, frivolity and other petulant behaviors will result in
permanent moderation for the first offense. Any posts of those foul
kinds will be deleted and nocem'd.

Users may be pseudonymous to join, but only with a substantial body
of original work product under that pseudonym. I will take the time to
examine the work product to ensure it is neither fluff nor copypasta.
Ridiculous pseudonyms will also be rejected. Hackety noms are OK if
tasteful and respectful.

Groups of users with substantial work on a project will be able to
request a newsgroup for that project if it is *substantially* more than
just an ideation.

This little project will take a while to get moving. Stay tuned.
