The Accent: Diane Morgan speaks with a heavy Bolton (Greater Manchester) accent. Northern English accents tend to clip vowels and soften "n" sounds, which frequently breaks basic AI subtitle bots.

What Philomena Cunk actually says at the end of that sentence is: -------- "Although in the Sherlock Holmes stories, some stuff happens that isn't skinnier." (0:17)

When she says "isn't skinnier" here, she is intentionally twisting British slang. She is mocking the Fast and the Furious movie franchise by saying that unlike those thin, mindless action movies, the Sherlock Holmes sequels actually have deeper, meatier plots that aren't "skinny" on details (0:09).

AI, not a real person.

No one from Bolton is saying anything in that video. I grew up in Bolton
and would know. I was born there in 1959. We say buzz, instead of bus. And
cayke, instead of cake. It is a fairly distinctive accent, certainly when
you lived their during your formative years.

I'd say no real person, certainly no one from Bolton, is speaking in that
video.

AI misheard AI. I wouldn't worry about it. It is neither here, nor there.

No one real said anything of any importance. I wouldn't worry about the
details.

I doubt it. I don't think any human said anything.

Their accents have distinct traits, but would be reconizable as from the

i think is from Manchester...
(but maybe it's a fake accent) -- Ok it seems a real Bolton accent.

and the word spoken was Skidding.

Philomena Cunk, Diane Morgan in cringe-worthy character perfectly,
clearly says "skidding". Is comedy not important to you - as that's
comedy. She's taking the piss out of the fact that the Fast and Furious
franchise seems to be nothing more than skidding. Is F&F so important to
you that you think it must not be ridiculed?

And Diane Morgan was born in Farnworth, a mere 5km from Bolton the town,
and definitely within Bolton the Metropolitan County, in 1975. Are you
saying she's got her accent wrong? If so, I recommend writing her a
strongly-worded letter, so that she can correct her own accent so that
it conforms to your demands.

Hi Phil,

I may have been "confused" at the time of writing. I didn't recognize a
Farnworth accent in the clip, which is generally pretty distinct - like
Peter Kay's. I went to primary school in Darcy Lever a mile or so away and
my dad worked at a timber works in Moses Gate, Farnworth, but that was a
long time ago and the local accent may have changed since then. I was
somewhat confused by what was being said too, but that's probably me not
following programmes on TV. I suspected the clip was generated by AI, but
could be quite wrong.

If I am wrong I apologise to anyone I may have offended and certainly to
Diane who I have heard speak with an accent reconizably from the area.

Sounds to me like "skidding", and that makes sense in context - suggesting that the Fast and Furious
franchise consists of nothing other than cars racing about and skidding round the corners. I think
I saw one of them once, and that matches my recollection! :)

Well,
a) It looks like PC
b) It sounds just like her
c) The material is just like other PC programmes I've seen.
d) I've no idea whether she comes from Bolton, or what that has to do with anything

So I'll go for REAL, but hey, AI fakes can be quite convincing these days, I guess.
