Just look how anthropomorphic most of them are! Read the OT and it tells the 
story of an irascible old man (sorry - "god") who commits genocide on a huge 
scale, orders his "chosen people" to do likewise (always in the political 
interests of those "chosen people" of course). And who said they were his 
"chosen people"?, why the "chosen people" did! To quote Mandy Rice Davies, 
"well they would say that, wouldn't they?".
