Almost three decades later, I obtained this -- for myself:

Brandenburg Concertos (1-6) by Gustav Leonhardt (conductor) with Frans
Brüggen, Paul Dombrecht, Sigiswald Kuijken, Wieland Kuijken and Claude
Rippers, recorded 1976, RCA Red Seal, 2 CD set, RD 70794(2).

The set is in mint condition, including the original price tag of the
V&D department store: 32.00 Dutch guilders.

I paid only €16 including friendly service (detailed replies to my
questions) packaging & postage.

More later!

Officially, that is the exact same amount as the original price!

I think I have the Brandenburgs in the recording by Ton Koopman and the
Amsterdam Baroque, made a decade later.

Of course there are many other recordings of the Brandenburg Concertos.

I like having accesss to a variety of interpretations. If I buy any more
sets, I will probably choose from the ones by Chailly, Abbado and
Savall. Actually, I will probably buy all three. And the one by Il
Giardino Armonico. And ...

But as much as I like Klemperer's way with the first concerto, I don't
need any more old-fashioned, let alone historical recordings.

Coincidentally released today....

Johnny Reinhard just released "Johann Sebastian BACH in Werckemeister
III tuning: BRANDNENBURG CONCERTI 2, 4 & 5; Cantata ICH HABE
GENUG; OBOE & VIOLIN CONCERTO; FLUTE PARTITA IN A MINOR; A
MUSICAL OFFERING selection: AMERICAN FESTIVAL OF MICROTONAL MUSIC",
check it out at:

After 40 years at WKCR-radio as host of Microtonal Bach on Christmas
Day in NYC, and years of concertizing, I am pleased to present my
first all-J.S. Bach album tuned to the historically accurate
Werckmeister III tuning. This means that all fifths are pure 3/2
fifths, but 4 are truncated a bit: C-G, G-D, D-A, and B-F# (each
flattened a quarter of a syntonic comma, or about 6 cents). It was
a joy to put this together.

These recordings made in 1976 and 1977 have been issued by Sony, and
later by Brilliant Classics (€4,29 in the Kruidvat store !!)
I don't like them very much, but ... OK, there are a lot more enjoyable
than Harnoncourt's recordings.
For people who like HIP recordings, there are "tons" of alternatives.
"Top" favorites: Alessandrini (naïve), Café Zimmermann (alpha) - and a
few "second favorites" like Il Giardino Armonico, and Akademie für alte
Musik Berlin, or Musica Antiqua Köln.
