Message-ID<20240317124343.0000672c@example.com>
That was the question on my mind as I read this story about an emu that
was murdered in a rural area outside Hamilton, Ontario.

https://www.thespec.com/news/hamilton-region/everybodys-in-shock-family-reeling-after-intruders-brutally-kill-pet-emu-in-rural-haldimand/article_baf366d5-da12-5866-aae6-046fa3794342.html?utm_source=newsshowcase&utm_medium=gnews&utm_campaign=CDAqKggAIhCUUsUgQ-5hmOyqGMpcOCriKhQICiIQlFLFIEPuYZjsqhjKXDgq4jDpic4B&utm_content=rundown&gaa_at=la&gaa_n=AZsHK_nLjVWrdQ-EYvCCw-ZfIawKg1UpbJaEPfXNW8dNFUi5ZxOlye1EE_9ANS8JaXSYgqEdKxSEBg%3D%3D&gaa_ts=65f70050&gaa_sig=V4EftU8dmcB0WqdCvZ4olgtekw6D4H36j0r_pi9N9quaoeTapiT3FqJ-j5MXlYxF3nU-kofhPOMwUZAF7Y-H8A%3D%3D

Unless the killer was a descendant of someone on the losing side of The
Emu War in Australia [1], this seems like it could only have been an act
of revenge on the "crazy, emu lady" as the owner says she was called.

~~
[1] No, I didn't make that up. There actually was a "war" waged by
humans against emus in Australia, nearly a century ago. The humans lost.

If you've ever seen the Liberty Mutual ad with the LiMu and Doug....
you'd understand.

I've never seen that ad so I'm afraid your reference is over my head ;-)

That's interesting since Rhino's the closest to Toronto though I know
the geography around Hamilton (about a 30 minutes drive from Toronto)
since I'm a McMaster alumnus though that was 40 years ago - and have
been back numerous times since my late wife was from around there.

It's possible that it's not run in Canada, even if you're picking up US
stations.

There was some "mustard ice cream" on a show I watched yesterday - the

Last time I got moose tracks, they snuck peanuts in it. Maple syrup flavor
would allow me to have pancakes, à la mode!

May I recommend Chapman's Ice Cream? It is a family-owned Canadian ice
cream maker and they make great ice cream. They even seem to take food
allergies seriously, according to their website:

https://www.chapmans.ca/content-attribute/peanut-free-nut-free/

8 pages worth of guaranteed peanut-free and/or nut-free flavours so it
won't kill you - probably!
