Or quite a few other things. She's been working steadily for many,
many years. Including, apparently, a recurring role on Game of
Thrones.
(I suspect they're both equally well preserved, but Carter is more
picky about her appearance when cameras are near. In the hands of
an experience Hollywood makeup artist, either - or you or I - could
look like a teenager.)

She played her in her late 70s, and looks it. pt

I didn't say *did* look like a teenager, I said *could* (and I'm
right). And if the character is in her 70s, it would be quite
surprising if the actress didn't look it.

Even if it weren't fantasy, there's always flashbacks. Or soap
opera tricks, like body doubles and evil identical twins no one has

Someone else is *always* paying. There's some connection, in that the original board game (which, so they tell me, somehow got loose in the real world) morphed into an old video game which sucked the players into the game world. Their avatars are nothing whatever like their real selves, yielding many sources of harmless merriment. -- Dorothy J. Heydt Vallejo, California djheydt at gmail dot com

From the preview I saw, their charactes were all the exact opposite
of their real selves, because that, of course, is hysterically
funny, and cannot possibly end without some sort of coming of age
moment where everybody understands the people who are different
then themselves, and they all roll around in cinnamon flavored
unicorn farts. If that's not how the movie goes, their trailer was
even worse than most.

Yeah. Extruded fantasy product, Hollywood flavor.

Sounds like, for once, the trailer was fairly accurate. Glad I
skipped it.
