Without vegetation, it's just rocks...everywhere.

Rocks.

Bacteria is not visible at the magnification available.

Nitpick: Bacteria are. Or in this case, are not.

On the other hand, here's a link comparing Mars to Utah.

Okay, since there is no vegetation on Mars,
what is there that NASA doesn't see?

http://graphics.wsj.com/documents/wsj_sliders14/?standalone=1&slideronly=1&tracking=0&s=MARSROVER_1

For one, rocks on Mars are spaced apart from each other...while the rocks on Earth are closer, more touching and all over each other.

http://graphics.wsj.com/documents/wsj_sliders14/?standalone=1&slideronly=1&tracking=0&s=MARSROVER_1

NASA will try to show comparisons, but they won't mention the differences.

They are either too stupid or crooks, or both.

Of course...there are other differences,

instead of looking for how they are alike, look for how they are.. unalike.

...another difference is that the Mars rocks are pointing in a different direction.

So, so far you got 3 difference

1) Vegetation is missing...on Mars

2) rocks on Mars are spaced apart from each other...while the rocks on Earth are closer, more touching and all over each other.

3) Mars rocks are pointing in a different direction, they are pointing up towards the hill, not down down the hill.

http://graphics.wsj.com/documents/wsj_sliders14/?standalone=1&slideronly=1&tracking=0&s=MARSROVER_1

In other words...Mars rocks are nothing like those on Earth.

Here is a different photo of rocks on Mars...

If you notice, rocks on Mars are spaced apart from each other, (even the small stones are spaced apart from each other ) they don't touch each other..

http://minornotes.com/spirit1.jpg

but on Earth...rocks are close and touch each other.
