Well, looking at your list, I guess you don't... someone left a bunch of photographs laying there.. on the surface of the moon. That means... if an alien from another planet happens to arrive on the Moon, he will say to his alien from another planet.. "Look what I found laying on the ground!" His friend will ask "What is it?" "It's a color photo of earthlings!!!" "What does the girl look like?" "Whats a girl?"

We certaintly cannot take the chance on letting the aliens know there are Black people on Earth. The aliens might simply decide to blow up the planet instead. Can you imagine a kid with an big afro in the picture on the Moon? They would probably send somebody back to the moon to burn it! I mean, what is that photo of a White family doing on the moon laying there? I didn't authorize that! The Starmaker -- To question the unquestionable, ask the unaskable, to think the unthinkable, mention the unmentionable, and challenge the unchallengeable.

So, what kind of message are they sending to aliens from another planet when they find this photo on our moon? http://fanpage.gr/pics/2015/10/25152.jpg

Not likely to have any receptors for it to bond to to even begin _attacking_ the 'host', after all. Now, OTOH, if there happen to be _bacterial spores_ on the photo, you might be onto something, Totally-alien bacteria are likely to be the source of a quick death; either they'll secrete something toxic to the new host (maybe even something innocuous to humans), or they'll simply reproduce unchecked until they interfere with exolife functions by their very presence where other cells need to be. -- Chrysi Cat 1/2 anthrocat, nearly 1/2 anthrofox, all magical Transgoddess, quick to anger Call me Chrysi or call me Kat, I'll respond to either!

Terrestrial pathogens could affect an extraterrestrial lifeform in a number of ways, particularly if it were *humanoid*. For extra-terrestrial life, this will depend on whether the coding in the DNA system is random, or is biologically inevitable - so that separately evolved life will still use the same code. (Or if Fred Hoyle was right and outer space is full of common life or proto-life that infests every planet that it lands on; am I more confident than I should be that he was wrong?) Some features of terrestrial life use a slightly variant form of what is otherwise a "universal" code (in life on Earth): that includes your own mitochondria. If life originated simultaneously on different sites on Earth, and ended up like this, it /may/ imply that the DNA code is mostly inevitable, with the allowed variations. In which case, an Earth virus could affect alien life, or the other way around. Having said that, it's important to consider the bag itself as well as the DNA inside it, to understand a virus. Or, for that matter, if you just look at the DNA, it doesn't look like a thing that's alive. Cells, on the other hand - bacteria, microbes - do their own living, and are just looking for food so that they can eat, grow, and multiply. Alien life may be just another food source for them, being unable to resist - which is what happens in that short story by that one guy, and now I've spoiled the satisfaction of reading it. So in ROT13 code, it's: "Orsber Rqra" ol Neguhe Pynexr.

It would have been much much better if they simply left a copy of Playboy magazine lying there. "Take me to your Playboy mansion!"

I know a guy who served in the Air Force who insists there is an Air Force base on the Moon!!!!! Among other things he told me, this guy says the Air Force has a "digital storage" system that duplicates their records on Earth. Would that qualify as a "time capsule." Assuming such a thing exists.
