My daughter gave me a "new" end book for my collection last week. _The
Omega Point_ by George Zebrowski. It will go right that after that Zahn
book after I read it. Maybe it is this book in a 1972 Ace print.

And yes, that answer is still correct. Maybe someday I will restore my
Zelazny lost in the Great Flood of 1989. Nah, I doubt it.

I loved Zelazny, back in the day, but the last couple times I picked up one of his books I found he hasn't aged well. This is unsurprising. Neither have most of his contemporaries.

I remember reading Le Guin's "April in Paris" and thinking that the
writing was quite lovely. I came across it again a few months ago and
it was no longer as lovely as it once was.

Clearly, I need a better security system. This tampering with the
classics is unacceptable!

I like the Simak books. And, Heinlein, especially the juveniles.

_the dream master_ (zelazny) still works for me. It's probably the combo
of Walt Whitman inside the story and Uber Tech's topical taxi travails
outside the story that make it so.

So is it the end book because of the author, or because it's the Omega Point? :)

It's wonderful synchronicity, in any case.

I wonder, did the author or his editor think,
"Well, it'll wind up on the bottom rightmost
shelf, anyway, so....."

"One" Zahn book?

The only Zahn I've read is the Quadrail series. But there are
five of those.

I have read one Zahn book. I have two more in my SBR.

Well, I can recommend the Quadrail penatology. A combination of
James Bond (for the hard-hitting action), Agatha Christie (for
the whodunit-isn't-who-you-thought-dunit) and A. E. Van Vogt (for
the wheels within wheels within wheels).

There are several Zelazny you might like, and a smattering of Zelazny-ands;
Sarah Zettel writes good stuff, and Stephan Zielinski is a friend who has one
urban-fantasy book out some time ago. Paul Edwin Zimmer, Marion's brother, had
an unfinished epic-fantasy series that has somewhat more king-in-yellow roots
than Darkover did. And Zindel has some space opera.

Dave, who discovered yesterday our county's libraries have v.1-4 and 6 of
Wright's Count to a Trillion series. bah.

Who would be the alphabetically ultimate author?

Eric Simon, writing as "Victor Zyx?"

I went to high school with a guy named Mark Zyzza. Maybe we should
track him down and convince him to write a novel.
