First appeared as a Playboy Sci-Fi story circa 60s 70s 80s about a desperate gambler panhandling for the only currency available in a future Berkeley where passing palms across each other passes on short debit and credit transactions of time by young students, street people, and the down and out in a dispassionate last attempt to give a guy a dimes worth of time —— i tried to look it up but couldn't find it, anybody recognize or know it, Thanks.

According to a website that offers up the story for free, _Playboy_
published "Time is Money" (Falk) in its December 1975 issue:

Ahasuerus, it looks to me like this story may be missing from isfdb.org.
A "Lee Falk" isfdb author stub [1] shows that it's an alternate name
for Basil Copper. [2] But there is no "Time is Money" story listed under
Basil Copper.
Your criteria for a "verified" status is unknown to me, but here's
a couple of websites that pitch _Playboy_ product and mention the story:

https://insideplayboymagazine.com/magazine/december-1975-playboy-magazine/
http://www.vintageadsandstuff.com/playboy75.html

Considering the "Mandrake" reference, this would be the Lee Falk in question:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Falk

Falk not only created "Mandrake the Magician," but "The Phantom,"
as newspaper comic strips. I grew up reading both.

I have no info on pseudonyms Falk may have used for prose fiction.
