Judas goats are evil and very good at it. Then there's the two

My mother always told me to be good. My father always told me that
if I couldn't be good, be good at it.

The sheep elect them. Usually with great enthusiasm.

You're welcome. I'll have to tell you about the bull and the

Well, you certainly never *won* at it. But looking off into the
distance and mumbling "I meant to do that" isn't the same as not

Actually I would just ignore them, until they laid a hand on me.
Then I would teach them not to touch me. I didn't like to fight, but I
refused to be pushed around.

'A sorry, suffering son of a Siberian sheep shipper' was the phrase
we used at Ft. Greeley, Alaska, instead of cursing around women and
small children. Just another typical military 'run and gag!' ;-)

This is my very first meetup with either an astronaut or a 1969 ARAPnet
user. (If a followup to a usenet post qualifies as a meetup.)
Does this meetup entitle me to a distinction along the lines of an
Erdos number [1]? (If not, perhaps it ought to.)
It's good to see you post again. Usenet got too quiet in your
absence.

(If a followup to a usenet post qualifies as a > meetup.) As I said, I first got on ARPAnet in 1977. Not 1969. The two 1969 users I've met are Steve Crocker and Vint Cerf. I'm also not an astronaut. (I've never been to the moon, but I have seen it.) > It's good to see you post again. Usenet got too quiet in your > absence. Thank you. But if you enjoy my posts, I'm fairly active in the newsgroup next door (rec.arts.sf.fandom). I posted 1442 messages there in 2017, and 10 so far in 2018. And this newsgroup is hardly quiet. I read all posts in rasff (except from the tiny number of people in my killfile), but the volume here is far too high for me to read all the messages. There's a persistent rumor that Usenet is dead. I have no idea where it came from. Maybe the rumor was originated by Mark Zuckerberg, Alexis Ohanian, and Jack Dorsey. When I run into people who used to be on Usenet, and I ask them why they dropped it, they almost invariably express surprise, if not skepticism, that it's still around. Bizarre. -- Keith F. Even in 1978, there were thousands of users. By 1981, there were 213 host computers, most of which were large timesharing machines with many users, and serving as telnet relays for many more. pt

There are newsreaders that will automatically rotate .sigs from a

Accordign to Google, Swedish for "risk" is "risk." How odd.

Kill files are free for the asking. I had to use over 100 on a
nymshifter on the Sci.Electronics.xxx newsgroups.:)
