Yes, those crashes slowed things WAY down on the subways. Andy Byford started to revert some/many/whatever of those moves with the Save Safe Seconds program. I regularly rode Metro North's Hudson Line. Express trains would zip along south of Tarrytown at like 70 mph. After the Spuyten Duyvl crash, got slowed down to like 50 mph and have never gotten back to 70. --Dan
