This is _not_ a typo.  If you want to insist that it is a typo, than
you should have changed the comment line right next to it that
explains why it is not a typo, b/c now it doesn't make sense.

The reworked version of this paper https://doi.org/10.1109/90.650142
from 1997 uses "A. Lauck" in the paper itself and refers to the
original 1987 paper using "A. Lauck" too.

I followed the link that you added to the man page:
https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/37499.37504
which is not the one you used above.
This link has "T. Lauck", which is why I changed it.

I don't care either way, you can change it back or not, but perhaps
keep the link and the name in sync.

It's a different link b/c it's a different, reworked version of the
paper, published 1997.  I said that in my reply.  That reworked
version of the paper lists "A. Lauck" as the co-author and in its
bibliography it refers to the original 1987 paper with "A. Lauck" as
the co-author.

You also completely ignored the comment line right after it, that
should have probably alerted you it's not just a "typo".  Also, after
your change that comment became confusing, b/c both names (in the text
and in the comment) were now the same.

I'm not objecting to the changed initial.  I object to you making a
change you apparently don't quite understand, making that change in an
incomplete way (not changing/removing (and probably not even noticing)
the comment that tried to alert about the varying spelling) and then
mischaracterizing your change in the log message as "fix typo".
