I don’t know if I want to do a 22H2 on the ebay 8500 and 8500 for that 
matter. I haven’t tested the 780 with the external hd yet.

Man, that’s allot of drivers!

It seems more trouble than it worth from your descriptions. I think that 
the hd in the external case is unstable even though I can connect it to 
the 2.0 ports and it works. I have another external hd I created and I 
just tested it on the front 3.0 port and it connected normally with 
tones and dialog boxes.

So I think I'll remove the 'bad' hd from the external case and put in 
another.
