Hi, if you are running Debian on Xen you should keep your eyes open when upgrading the kernel. For me, the kernel 4.9.110-1 from the linux-image-4.9.0-7-amd64 package wouldn't boot as a DomU kernel. As I've read, it won't work as a Dom0 kernel either (I didn't check that, though). https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=903767 -- Regards mks

Yep, I had same problem last night, lucky me I started by upgrading a test server before production server. I just see a workaround have been posted. This workaround work here while we wait for a real stable kernel update. <Bug#903821: 4.9.110-1 Xen PV boot workaround <Adding pti=off to the kernel boot parameters will work around the issue for <now! Just tried this on a test VM, and as expected it failed to boot after
updating.
Added pit=off and it boots, but during the boot it fails to mount some NFS
mounts that are listed in fstab. If I run 'mount -a' once it's booted, the
mounts succeed.
Presumably this is some other change as a result of this update? Anyone else
seen this?
I've reverted back to the snapshot I took before applying the updates, and
it's working again. Will hold off applying the updates for now until I can
work out what's going on.
Any advice appreciated.
Andy
