Dear all, We at FOSSASIA working on project Meilix (https://github.com/fossasia/meilix <https://github.com/fossasia/meilix>), a Debian based distribution. We are facing an issue with the OS that it just boots into a blank screen. We documented the errors occurred and the steps performed in the issue #270 <https://github.com/fossasia/meilix/issues/270>. Meilix is based on 32 bit and we are now trying to convert it into 64 bit. We tried replacing the image file of 32 version with 64 bit, but it actually didn’t work. We documented every step performed in the issue #24 <https://github.com/fossasia/meilix/issues/24>. It would be great if we get your valuable response regarding the issue. Thanking You Tarun Kumar

You go through the boot process and find out what is not working. Sometimes it is missing devices under /dev Sometimes it is a wrong script or missing module, or module not loaded, or missing library, or missing command. You need to look into the initrd - your problem is there in the scripts that build the initrd Please also note that you are on the debian forum and your screenshot reads ubuntu regards

Really? Looking at https://github.com/fossasia/meilix/blob/master/sources.list I see no mention of Debian at all (unless you count "deb"): # See http://help.ubuntu.com/community/UpgradeNotes for how to upgrade to # newer versions of the distribution. deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ xenial main restricted # deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ xenial restricted main multiverse universe ## Major bug fix updates produced after the final release of the ## distribution. deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ xenial-updates main restricted # deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ xenial-updates restricted main multiverse universe ## N.B. software from this repository is ENTIRELY UNSUPPORTED by the Ubuntu ## team. I wish I could have such team members. My totally unhumble opinion on anything like this is that.. once a completely different team of developers puts their tweaks all over a base product, that kind of puts any questions about that product into the hands of that secondary team of developers. Maybe yes, maybe no, but those secondary tweaks may be the root cause of whatever is occurring. It seems logical to start an inquiry there... and then move back up the food chain after all possible causatives have been ruled out by the last creative Minds that touched a product before it hit the cyber shelves.... Ditto on the documentation. They've got it going on when it comes to hitting the front page of web searches.. #hsfmodem *COUGH!* Cindy :) -- Cindy-Sue Causey Talking Rock, Pickens County, Georgia, USA * runs with duct tape (because sharp, pointy objects are like... phew, let's don't even go there) *
