Are you sure that you have an uptodate stretch system without old packages from jessie? best regards Ulf

How can I check if I still have some old packages from Jessie? I order to upgrade my Jessie to Stretch I followed the steps from this guide: https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial/how-to-upgrade-debian-8-jessie-to-9-stretch/ And there was no steps to check and remove old packages. Can you please tell me how to do this? Regards, Piotr

This is mentioned in > the debian release notes. Another strategy is simply to leave them alone. They're not hurting anything but some disk space, and who knows? Maybe you're actually using them, and removing them would disrupt your workflow. It's especially good to leave things alone if you've ever compiled anything yourself, rather than using packages. Anything you've compiled may be using one of the old shared libraries that has no replacement in stretch. libpng12-0 comes to mind immediately.

Please keep in mind, that this thread only exist because the OP use an obsolete and broken tool. But you are free to keep your strategy. best regards Ulf
