What is happening is that the little input window pops up when I press Alt+F2. But when I enter konsole in it and press Enter key, nothing happens. The little input window is the program called krunner. Using that term in web searches might lead to more insight. You might also start krunner from a shell and see if it produces any errors. -- regards, kushal

When I run krunner from the konsole terminal, the little input window pops up but I see a segmentation fault on the terminal. I don't often use that method to launch programs myself, so I just tried
it out of curiosity. All I can tell you is that it works for me.
Software launches without problem from there.
Sadly, I have no idea where to look to diagnose what's wrong.
