Only with that one particular URL. Glinka is simply one of the hosts in the Debian server fleet. You should be able to find what you want that's specific to Debian starting out at one or more of: http://www.debian.org/doc/ http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-reference/ http://www.debian.org/doc/user-manuals http://www.debian.org/support http://www.debian.org/ Simply googling any specific man page WFM for components and utilities that aren't specific to Debian. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." That page says
/begin quote
manual pages
Traditionally, all Unix programs are documented with manual
pages, reference manuals made available through the man command.
They usually aren't meant for beginners. You can search for and
read the manual pages available in Debian in
http://manpages.debian.org/.
/end quote
"http://manpages.debian.org/" is a link to
http://manpages.debian.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi
http://manpages.debian.org/ gives the "Welcome to glinka!"
message.> http://www.debian.org/doc/user-manuals

I explicitly wanted the Debian version.

What doesn't exist can't be gotten. IOW, if any given man page is not specific to Debian, which is the case more often than not, as long as the package versions match, the man page provided by any specific Debian release is the same man page provided by any other distro. Most of what any distro is doing packaging, taking the source, building, and putting it into the distro's package management system. For man pages, Debian packaging means copying word for word from the source package into a .deb package. What differentiates among distros is primarily their package management systems, release scheduling and naming, and policies about choosing which programs and versions are to be provided. See e.g. http://linux.die.net/man/1/ddrescue http://linux.die.net/man/1/diff http://linux.die.net/man/1/mc http://linux.die.net/man/1/rsync http://linux.die.net/man/8/traceroute -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Perhaps it never actually happened, just got planned. Lisi

Sorry. Careless copy-n-paste ;<
https://www.debian.org/doc/ says
manual pages [1]
Traditionally, all Unix programs are documented with manual
pages, reference manuals made available through the man command.
They usually aren't meant for beginners. You can search for and
read the manual pages available in Debian in
http://manpages.debian.org/.[2]

[2] a link to http://manpages.debian.org/cgi-bin/man.cgi
I reported the problem over on debian-www list and was told that
the problem exists and is being investigated.
